Squarespace felt limiting and was way expensive so I switched to Wix. There’s a bit of a learning curve but it’s flexible and quite literal to use — similar to InDesign.

Learn basic html + css to create divs. You can make a simple layout in a day or two. Host on GitHub (free) if you want a custom domain, prices vary but mine is $10/year.

In an internal call today, I made reference to how I feel like were living in Atlas Shrugged: incompetent government, virtue signaling, etc. My EM called me a few hrs later and said the BA felt my reference to Ayn Rand was a “microaggression” that made her feel “unsafe” and was inflicted “violence” on her mental health and complained to the EM.

What does bench life look like for you? For me a typical day looks like this 9 am- sign in and check emails 930-11 : look for a new job 11-2 lunch and nap 2-3 : sometimes meetings, mostly begging people for billable work 3-4:30 - proposal work if I have it or more job hunting 5-9pm family time and dinner 10-3am - netflix, videogames, cry myself to sleep
