I want to escape the cold and I’m looking at working from an Airbnb in Florida for a month. Do you think this would be worth it given the risks? Am I crazy for thinking this?

Why don’t you do Vancouver instead? It’s against policy to work outside Canada. Not worth the risk imo

So Vancouver is covid risk but not florida ... Wake up my friend ! Weather I completely understand Deloitte does random audits for log ins and if you are out of country ... All the best explaining the same to anyone !

Against policy for PwC Canada to work outside Canada. One of my coworkers tried getting approval and it was denied.

There are tax implications for your employer if you work outside of your home province and especially in a foreign country. You can’t just work from anywhere you want. You have to get approval first. Yes you can get canned if they find out you’re logging into your VPN from Florida for a month and didn’t tell anybody.

For a month , you can do... NAFTA has provision for it for 2 months . Talk with your immigration and tax consultant and sort it out ... I worked from toronto on EY USA payroll for 4 months

Late night thoughts - I cannot figure out when to throw in the towel on consulting. I just switched to a Big 4 role two weeks ago and I feel like my stress has shot up significantly. I hate traveling for work and I want a role with good WLB. I know two weeks is nothing and I feel like a failure for giving up so easily but I feel I'm just not made out for this kind of life. Should I just suck it up and stick it out for two more years for the exit opps?

I'm not a rich man, but is 250k a lot of money? Sure in some parts yes, but not in major cities. If u make that much on ur own, ur doing well. But it's not hard to make that with dual income. (Cont.)

Are there any benefits of marriage other than fulfilling a social norm and tax benefits. Pretty sure I popularized the two sayings - “drinking from the firehose” and “ghosting”. On my first project 7 yrs ago, was when i first used the phrase, when I was looking for an analogy to describe my first couple of months when id speak to my career counselor. Before then i had never heard the phrase used anywhere, not even outside of consulting. After that, I heard it being used all the time in the consulting world, but never outside. 6 yrs ago I distinctly remember a conversation I was
