Have you looked at Weiss at all, it’s quite a bit below your budget but also made in USA and I bet your husband would like it. Can’t go wrong with a BB58 or Speedmaster though if your looking to get something a bit nicer.
I wish my wife would join this bowl, my gifts would get a lot better 😂
Personally I would mix it up and check out Nomos in this situation, probably not a popular opinion though. If he likes Shinola he will like the look of some of their watches. From a US made standpoint you could also check out Weiss as well...I think someone else mentioned this above.
I second Nomos. Very underrated outside of watch nerd circles

Black or blue dial Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41 (or 36 if he has smaller wrists): $5,900. Shouldn’t be to hard to find before Xmas, and it’s one of the least flashy Rolexes in the catalogue. It has very little polishing, so it won’t jump out as much as most of the others.
I actually absolutely love this, so understated and classic... but yeah the brand name scares me.
Grand Seiko or Omega Speedmaster
GS for more elegant/ dressy looking; omega for sport. Can’t go wrong with either

Your budget is the sweet spot for Omega. In addition to the Speedmaster Professional, and the Planet Ocean, I would add the Aqua Terra to that list as well.
You’re a pretty awesome wife!
I think i know exactly what he will love: Go for the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Americas Cup
We live in Chicago and this feels a little “summery” for an Xmas gift to me. He does have a July bday though so I’ll keep this in mind :)
If he wants American, take a look at RGM. IMO it’s the best made American watch company. You could also get him a vintage Tudor sub that were actually mainly Rolex, mine is my favorite watch and it even has a Rolex crown.
Thanks, will check it out!
Tudor for sure. Black Bay 58. Alternatives: Rolex explorer 1 Rolex oyster perpetual Omega speed master

Tudor or Hamilton (Hamilton made in US)
How about a Cartier Tank?
If perception matters, not sure I’d do a Tudor. Someone might see it from a distance and assume Rolex. Omega feels like a good choice to me.
Good point.

Tudor Black Bay or Omega Aqua Terra are my recommendations - both are awesome and within budget
Omega Speedmaster would be great, but also if he like the “made in America” thing, check out Timex American Documents series. They are fully made in America except the movement itself, and only cost about $500
Cartier
I‘d go with a IWC Pilot‘s watch or the spitfire.
Was hoping someone would mention an IWC Pilot or Pilot Mark XVIII
Grand Seiko Snowflake
Since he’s an attorney, I’m guessing he wants something he can wear with a suit or business casual. Probably something refined and classic but subdued. Also doesn’t scream attention to itself with respect to brand name either. I’d suggest an Omega Aqua Terra or a Speedmaster Moonwatch on the sportier side, or a JLC Reverso on the dressier side. A more affordable option would be a Nomos Tangente.
Look up the Omega Speedmaster moonwatch. The design is unchanged since the astronauts in the Apollo programme were issued them by Nasa. First watch on the moon.
