I want to go to Tokyo in May. What do you think odds are Japan is still not open to international travel by then?

With how fast things change, no ones guess is going to be right. It’s all about the amount of risk you’re willing to take by booking a trip

I’m trying to go to Japan in January so here’s hoping 🤞

Friend of a friend called the embassy and got permission to go to Japan. Or so she said.

They’ve got everything booked and are traveling late November I think.

Highly highly doubt this happened unless there is more to the story. I work with massive, influential companies that still can’t get visas for expatriate execs to be allowed into the country. It is very hard to get into the country right now and there is no date set for that to change. In fact, the rumblings are that the government may further restrict entry after the paraolympics due to the delta variant (ie not letting non citizen visa holders back in, similar to last summer’s restrictions).

Will probably depend on how their vaccination goes

I think pretty good. I will be rescheduling my May 2020 trip for the fourth time to then

They should institute a test to see if you are otaku enough to enter

Fingers crossed you can go. Im a Japanese citizen abroad and it's hard to go home. Lots of requirements + you still need to quarantine for 14 days upon entry.

I have an offer from IBM, which I need to join from 30th June at Bangalore. Currently am at my hometown.
I asked the HR if there is any travel reimbursement and initial accommodation provided by them. The HR denied any such facility provided by IBM. And asked me to ask my manager once I have joined the company.
Any suggestions, as I have to travel only for the joining and traveling would be quite heavy on my pocket.

Hey guys off topic

I had travelled from Mumbai to Howrah by train in Dec 2021 and had worked from my laptop. The speed was decent and I was able to attend most of the calls too. This month i again travelled on the same route and I barely got above 2 MBPS. There was no proper network along the way, God knows why. Is this due to incoming 5G bandwidth or any other reason?

How often do you think you will be traveling in 2022 with COVID mostly behind us? In the final interview/negotiation stages with an agency focused on pharmaceutical marketing as an Account Manager. Offer states up to 30% travel (but was told 20% is more realistic). No further info given such as location of accounts I'd be working on or a baseline other AMs travel. Feels like a red flag. Not interested in much travel. Quarterly is manageable. Any insights from others in similar roles??

Help!! My bestfriend is doing two months abroad and was trying to fly into turkey when they told her she couldn't because her passport expired within three months.

She went to the US Embassay in Athens knowing she had a month left of traveling, and gave her an emergency passport and punched holes in her exsisting one. Now no country will let her in with her emergency passport.

Can her mom get her a passport in the US and ship it to her? Is there anyway around this?

Thank you!!
