It’s a bit pricier than other options but Court 16 does group, semi private, and private indoor lessons on Boreum Hill and LIC. The benefits are not fighting for a court, finding an instructor, or needing a permit. Otherwise I’m fairly sure you can just find an instructor who has a permit and try and get court reservations. I think Prospect Park Alliance offers lessons if you’re in Brooklyn

I started playing during the pandemic: completely addicted now. Tennis in Manhattan is great. They have hard and clay courts, lots of beginner level classes, and a pro shop for your racket needs. You can even demo a racket for your first class if you don’t have one yet. I play on the clay courts at Sutton East. Went from the beginner class, to advanced beginner, and then on to their intermediate classes (Cardio, Drill and Play). I’m a huge fan of the folks there. Lots of great playing partners, too. Very positive/social vibe generally. Caveat: tennis is not cheap.

There was the exact same question asked a week or two back - worth searching the bowl for that post and answers

Look for group lessons online and try and get a few friends (or strangers from, ie fishbowl) to make it affordable

Got a bit too drunk at a work happy hour. Nothing embarrassing happened but I definitely blacked out and could’ve said stuff that I wouldn’t have said sober. Everyone else was also drinking quite a bit, so it was fine but not ideal and I’ve just been ashamed. Lesson learned. This happen to anyone? How do you get over the shame/anxiety of “what happened?”

Have any of your firms or law departments planned firm or department-wide fundraisers, pro bono projects, or volunteer events that specifically offer legal assistance to combat racial inequality? We can donate money or time individually, but a small group of us at my firm are brainstorming ideas that would make a bigger impact with some sort of large scale effort. Such a daunting concept.
