You can have a mid title and a senior salary. Get out there and start talking to these places.
I went Senior AD to AD in order to move to NYC. And in fairness, I knew my title was inflated.
No it’s not. It depends on the opportunity.
Titles aren’t as important as you think. Going to a great agency with great opportunities to grow you portfolio is.
No it’s not career suicide. It’s all about the work you have in your book. I’ve hired mid-level CW with great work over a Senior CE with mediocre work and believe me they’re out there. But you’ll need to see what the salary difference might be and adjust finances accordingly.

Isn’t senior copywriter mid-level?
In any case, there are differences in the weight of titles as different caliber agencies. (ACD at a really good shop can b a fucking heavy hitter, for example.)
If you are moving from meh agency to hot shop, a downshift in title isn’t really a downshift.
But if the agencies are relatively equal, then yeah, you are stepping backwards in a pretty public way. Which could make future employers wonder if that’s a sign that you are failing/struggling/washing out.
But keep in mind: it really only matters what title you end up with at the new agency, not the one you start with. If you end up in a few years with an equal or better title than ur current one, the positive arc of your career trajectory will appear uninterrupted on your resume.
