Peer feedback season here. There's always a question on these forms to list the person's "areas to improve"and for most people it's honestly the only time I ever consider things they're doing wrong. If the question is required I have to think of some BS weakness that's not a big deal, then assume that is getting discussed in the person's evaluation and they're writing up OKRs about it or something. Does this exercise really provide enough useful information to be worth it? How do you handle it?

I'm the hiring mgr for designers in my org. I recently discovered pay band information given to me by the HR generalist I'm working with on hiring was outdated and updated bands had been released over the summer (prior to my hire date). The outdated information had led me to believe a prime candidate was out of range. Aside from incompetence, can anyone think of a reason why HR might have withheld information about the pay bands? Deloitte started my green card process in 2019. Went through prevailing wage last September, then they paused the process I guess due to covid and political reasons. I’m a little confused on the electric vehicle tax credit. I’m filling out Form 8936 and it appears to have a maximum credit of $2,500. However, I am reading that the maximum credit is $7,500 if your tax/AGI meet the criteria which it does in this case. What am I missing here? The form clearly shows $2,500 so where is the $7,500 coming from? Also, is there carryover to next year’s return if all of it isn’t use? Looks like maybe form 8834 if I’m reading it correctly?

I think the quality of tax returns being filed has gone down significantly. One of the reasons is that the “old school” mentality of if you are assigned a tax return you work as many extra hours to complete the return, however people cap their hours and those returns either don’t get done or they are done poorly and it’s better to get filed then to get it late. Leaders in PA need to factor in that the newer generation will not just “get it done” regardless if the amount of extra hours.
