I want to quit. That it that’s my confession.

I’m in-house with an opportunity to go back to a big firm. There would be a substantial increase in comp (about $260k all-in currently vs $325k plus bonus potential at the firm). I currently have excellent WLB - that would take a hit at the firm for sure. While the billable requirement would be 1500, the lack of predictability is the biggest drawback, especially with a young family. What would you do??

For those who have purchased an expensive watch (Rolex, Omega, etc.), how much were you making and how much did you have saved up before you could rationalize the expense?

I find it hard to have hookups and simultaneously look for a relationship. If I’m hooking up with people, I reject anyone who has feelings for me because I would be letting them down. I know I took out the loans and I should repay them and I’m normally fiscally conservative and against giving out free money. But I am hoping student loans get completely cancelled. It would greatly boost the economy if people do not have them hanging over their heads. However, forgiving what is currently there won’t help long term if the predatory practices around student loans aren’t fixed along with soaring tuition prices and salaries for administrators.
