How much does YOE matter? 3 YOE out of undergrad and I just got the manager promotion at a B4 consulting shop (FB hasn’t updated companies but I used to be at D 😅) Will my lack of experience hurt me when I’m looking for exit ops (ideally to tech)?
I left consulting after 1YOE for a strategy job at an early stage startup - it failed after 6 months (it was difficult to raise money during CV). What kind of roles would be receptive to my story?
CPI officially 7% for 2021! The scary part is this number is going to keep climbing well into 2022. The Feds plans to raise rates will only help so much but not solve the problem! What are people doing to hedge?
Current comp is near the top of the band for a role I was offered. If I jumped I would be taking a ~7% increase while I was hoping for something closer to 20%. Is it possible to counter and push past the band? I was offered a raise during my interview process so the original jump of 15% was decreased to 7% based on my new salary.
In a predicament need some thoughts: I’m getting offered a new role (not a promotion, just a new role within my project) that has more lead level responsibilities. It seems if I take this role and do well at it, I could potentially get promoted mid year or end year. Now, this is coming at an interesting time when I was already looking to transition to a new company - an immediate transition will get me a quicker salary bump that I would otherwise have to wait a bit to get at my current company
Anyone has any insight on : what is typical % raise when someone make a lateral move within the same company (relocating to another location)? and what is typical % raise when receiving a promotion within the same company (also relocating to another location)?
How do you decide between staying on an account where you like the people, there's a good chance of promotion, but the work is boring (con'd)
I’m curious what the opinions are on the process they have seen or used to get promoted. I’ve never had it happen in my career this way but in my mind, your work speaks for itself, you advocate for yourself, ask for a promotion when it’s not been offered. Then you get promoted after you make your case if you do qualify. The way I’ve seen it (& a reason I’m leaving my current company) is where they only promote people when they’ve threatened to leave or received a different offer. Thoughts?
Hi Londoners, Just wondering if you aware of salary bands/what is the expected salary at Accenture Strategy and Consulting (London office) Potential Join at Cusp of Highest Consultant level/early manager promotion within 6 months. What have you splurged on after a promotion?
What would you do if you knew based on the range of potential percentage increases you could get at YE (base + promotion %) that you would still be no where close to the Industry average?
Thinking of moving from NY to Austin after bschool (next couple years) to work and raise family. Prefer to stay in consulting or tech industry. Is it a good option?
Do other firms pay UG campus hires more than campus hires from the previous year, even accounting for their raise? Ex: 2019 Campus hire starts at 70k, raise to 75k after year 1; 2020 Campus hire starts at 76k. Or is this just a Deloitte thing?
What’s with people who just give themselves a title raise when they go freelance? Me think it’s bullshit, no?
Had anyone ever filed an EEOC complaint against their agency or former agency? If so, what happened? I’m thinking about filing one against my agency due to being passed over for a promotion.
Raise your hands 🙋♂️🙋♀️ if you travel to a place with no place to stay bookedin advance. you are too adventurous and just figure out whe.ln you get there
Is the raise I received reasonable? My firm bumped up my chargeable rate almost thirty percent by my raise was only 8.27%? I am a tax associate on my third year at a local firm in HCOL. I received my CPA license this year so I was expecting anywhere between 10% to 15%.
Got offer to a small boutique firm <75 ppl. 19% raise, free healthcare and in a LCOL city. Currently in DC @ Big 4. Concerned about overall career trajectory by moving to small city and no name firm.
Fishes - Any suggestions on creating a "roadmap" to promotion? Should it be in excel? ppt? visio? I feel like I have the data that needs to go in but need some suggestions on displaying this.
Hi All, I joined PwC SDC as an SA about 5 months back and i'm still in under probation. I received an offer from Genpact for an 40% hike at AM designation. Would it wise to reach out to HR/Management with the offer letter and ask them for a raise? What are the chances they will accept it and what could be its potential impact on my annual appraisal & future at PwC? Given that PwC just gave a mid year 5% hike, what kind of hike and bonus can i expect in July, with 2/3 rating? Pwc sdc Genpact
I’m having a meeting today with a partner on ways to refresh D& I (Diversity and Inclusiveness) initiatives in the new office i just joined. Would appreciate ideas on some of the areas to talk about and events to host
I grew up in a low income and single parent family. Humble beginnings. Now doing an average job as an accountant. I always feel inferior and insecure during a relationship. I know it’s not good but I cannot stop feeling that way. I don’t know how to become the confident, outgoing and stress free version of myself.
I have a weird question. I am splitting my time in 2 tracks of the same project and each track has its own SM. Track 1 SM wants me to escalate against Track 2 SM for he is delinquent is providing some information. This puts me in an uncomfortable situation as I don’t want to sour my working relationship with Track 2 SM (This escalation will sure blow up) How do you handle these situations?
When you start your Green Card process after getting married, can you leave the USA? What are the restrictions during the green card process? Thanks

Does anyone have recommendations on books or courses that do a really good job explaining step-by-step on how to start and run a mid-size business (local marketing agency, self storage real estate business, call center for third parties, etc.)

Does EB1 guarantee faster green card processing? My wife’s has given her two options. File for GC now or go to a foreign country for a year and come back in managerial position so expedite GC process. Has anyone done this? I myself am in the usual eb2 boat with priority date 2016. Wondering if the opportunity she’s getting is genuine and a better option
