Hello, I have received an offer from Southwest Airlines as a Associate Technology Analyst with their direct college hire program. Will be graduating in May with a degree in MIS and also have internships experience as a Business Systems analyst intern. The salary compensation started off at 66,500 but was looking for the 75k range and they got back to me saying the best they can do is 68,500. They also have a 401k company match up to 9.3%. Do you think this is a solid offer for this job market?

Well.. you’ll get upgraded from Atlanta to whatever hub you fly to, then you’ll duke it out again.
Outside of poor upgrade odds, which is now really every airline, Delta treats its Diamonds better than other airlines treat their elites. So I don’t see much of an upside.
But once OP gets to the AA hub where he has to make a connection, like DFW, he’ll have to duke it out. It will be the same thing they were fighting in Atlanta all over again.
Do you have direct routes on others where you go? If yes go for it.
But other wise Delta economy is miles better than connections and dealing with United / AA
I have direct routes with AA so it might be worth a try. Thanks M1
9/10 idiotic
If you are willing to deal with additional time in connections, then is ok.
You get global upgrade certs though right? That’s the real benefit of getting Diamond.
I’ve been pretty happy flying AA out of ATL. Almost all flights out of the T gates, great AAdmiral’s club, and non stop service to LA, Phoenix, Miami, Dallas, Chicago, DC, Charlotte, Philly, and NY. You can also fly to London non-stop on partner BA and Doha on partner Qatar. I’ve gotten upgraded on almost every AA flight in or out of ATL as an AA EXP
That’s great to hear. I mainly work in those cities with nonstop flights.
