I had an offer from Bank of America Mumbai for 20 LPA fixed , but I also got an offer from Citi Pune (23.5 fixed). Out of courtesy I have informed BOFA that I won’t be able to join them since I got a better offer. HR from bofa is even ready to go above Citi and give 1 year WFH on exceptional basis , also ready to change my base location from Mumbai to Gurgaon since I’m North Indian . Next week is LWD . I’m inclined to Citi for Pune location and role offered is much more in line with my skillset.

After clerking, my BF recently accepted an offer from and joined a V50 firm (been there a few weeks). Shortly before his start date, he heard back from a V5 firm (one he’s wanted to join for a while) and just got an even better offer. Practice groups at each firm are also different.

The office he joined for the V50 firm is in City A. The office for the V5 firm is in City B (where V50 firm also has an office).

How should he break the news to the V50 firm to minimize reputational risk, etc.?
