I wanted to take a quick poll on how to handle end of year holiday tips/gifts for childcare givers. My kid’s preK teachers are getting a group gift (parents are all chipping in for gift cards) so that is great and takes care of that.
Afterschool program (Trailblazers) and it is a revolving cast of caregivers. Someone different each day and my partner and I have no relationship to any of them except the lead guy. Unclear even how many caregivers are working with our son’s cohort. Thoughts? Cont.

I don't think it's necessary to gift every single adult your kid has contact with. If you and your kid really like the after school team, why not take a tray of cookies or donuts or other goodies one afternoon for them all to share and call it a day? (Except I would do it earlier in December because that last week of school they're going to be overloaded with stuff already).

Afterschool program and former daycare, would do a large tray of ferrero rocher each and a group card

You can’t go wrong w food, preferably something sweet. ☺️

Food is put in the staff lounge for all to enjoy. And yes, we do enjoy it lol

I agree with others that dropping off a treat is enough

Second situation: We maintain a relationship with our former daycare. He attended there through early Sept. of this year before preK. He will still go there the odd day here and there during teacher workdays and certain holidays but it is only a day or two here and there. Should I still tip everyone there as if he attends there full time? Like I did last year? I feel like I should do something but not sure I can do the larger tips I used to do. There are multiple caregivers there and it gets really expensive.

For the after school program maybe order them pizza and write a nice letter thanking the whole team for their efforts?

I fifth all of the above! Our son is little and in daycare full time, so we are giving his teachers pretty generous gift cards to Amazon (or we've just done Visa prepaid cards in the past). But when he's older and in the scenario you describe, we'll do exactly what everyone else has suggested - trays of goodies with a nice card.

I interviewed for a full-time role (remote) but it was later revealed it would require relocation. I am not wanting to do that and they said I could come on as a contractor. The vendor I would go through provides benefits (medical, dental, PTO). What would be a realistic hourly rate to request/negotiate? I want to get as high as possible but also don’t want to settle for less than what I have to. For context, I am at 165k right now and the role would have been a pay cut to 135k (full-time).

How much PTO do you typically take in a year? I've only been taking about 1.5-2 weeks and I'm starting to feel burnt out, but it doesn't seem like anyone on my team takes more!

You’re either not valuable to your company and/or your job isnt that important if you’re able to take PTO and not at least send some e-mails.

I used to be really bad about not prioritizing my prayer life. But now I pray & talk to God all the time. I’ve seen what prayer does-it can change the trajectory of your life. God tells us to make our prayers & petitions known to Him & to pray without ceasing. What happens when we pray is absolutely incredible. The Holy Spirit within us interprets our groans & our prayers to our advocate Jesus Christ who petitions God the Father on our behalf. The perfect triune God hears my prayers and yours!

Hello everyone! I am looking for advice. I am a C&B Team lead ( about 15 years of experience) but all my experience was in Russia. Now I got married and moved to UK , plus we have got a baby in 2019 so now I am looking for a job in UK having 3 years of career break. Although, I am getting CIPD lvl 7 diploma this year. I am not ready for team leader's role now . So my question is about HR area, where could I find a job with my only Russian experience? HR generalist, C&B analyst, HR BP, recruiter?

I was attracted to something about him and i know i had his attention. I could barely look him in the eyes when he would make conversation. I wanted to… you know what. SO WEIRD. Hes not even a 10! ADHD medication with high Blood Pressure?

I found ADHD meds helpful when I worked in consulting in my 20s. I stopped the meds when I went back to school. Also have had High BP since late 20s. 15 years away, I am back in consulting and loving it, however my difficulties juggling so many projects/tasks is holding me back. I know I would benifit from some ADHD medication but my Dr won’t prescribe any with my history of BP (controlled with BP meds). Anyone else gone through this? Any tips?

Hi there - I’m 31 and am flying to visit family at the end of the month. It’s something we decided on several months ago, after a year of not seeing each other and spending the holidays apart. My parents have both received the first vaccine shot, and ideally I will have too before I go. Any advice to get the vaccine (at least shot 1)? I’ve been waiting for “my turn” and could technically qualify under phase 1C but worried about the scheduling here in PA. Has anyone gotten the vaccine in DE/NJ?

My old employer asked me if I wanted to come back to the company as a manager. The pay will likely be much better and the position holds more responsibility than I’ve had before, so overall it would be a step up. The issue is I left the company because of an abusive manager who constantly put me down and made me feel like I wasn’t doing anything right. If I come back I’d be working under her again. I’m torn because the opportunity is great but the stress was awful. Continued in comments…
