If you apologized, explained, and then interviewed well, maybe it’ll be ok. I’ve recommended two candidates for hire after being late. One was 20+ minutes late to a 50-minute interview. He was able to overcome the stress of being late and still perform all the skills I needed to see. Hope your interviewer gives you grace. And hope you will not let this happen again.

~tech issues~ or if it’s because you were tied up on something that went over with your current job, or because of kids, I would hope they would be understanding because of COVID. It’s a whole new world. In February, sure I think they would have cut you but it’s a new game and I think you’re still in it. If not, onto the next one!!!!!!

One of my best hires ever was about 10 minutes late to an interview. It was a strike against him, but he turned it around in the interview. If it went really well, you’ll be fine.

I’ve missed an interview entirely and still got the job after they rescheduled. I had no good reason and owned up to my bs. Guess they appreciated my honesty. It’s nothing and I promise it happens more than you can imagine ! :)

My flight was cancelled and I had to reschedule same day with recruiter who shifted times around with the hiring manager. This was after I had already had to rearrange because of multiple interviews with multiple firms in multiple cities on the same day (back when I was MBA and there’s one call back day). Ended up getting an offer still. You never know.

Thanks for the support

Hi everyone. I’m looking for new work actually. Currently working but I’m looking for more opportunities as my current role is a contract one. My experience lies within data science, data analysis, public health analysis, consulting, financial reporting, analysis & planning and project management. I’d appreciate if anyone could connect with me or help me out 🙂

So had a great interview at a company & they said I made it to the next round. Didn’t hear after a week+, then followed up & still crickets from the recruiter. Do I email the planning director?

Is it better to wait until promo before switching to other firms? Applying to MBB but worried that if I get the offer I’ll end up switching right before I get my promo from Deloitte. I would likely reset to entry level at MBB either way but the pay would be a substantial bump from my current pay (even after promo). I’m in my second year at Deloitte out of undergrad.

Concierge emailed to ask the occasion ahead of time, and we mentioned again at valet, check in, and breakfast - haven’t gotten anything other than “congrats.” No upgrade. No information at check in re: amenities or “rituals” (e.g., 3 days in found out that there is a daily bloody Mary tasting - would’ve been nice to know). Am I overreacting to have hoped for something, anything celebratory?
