I was approached by a recruiter from Booking. As soon as I said I wasn't ready to take a FAANG stress interview, it was all over. He'd reached out to me because of my skill set, in an area utterly unrelated to inverting a tree on a whiteboard, and we couldn't get past that.

We are a small school. About 100 students per grade level from K-12. Our 8th grade team has seven kids that failed all four core classes all year long. There are another 6 or 7 that failed 2 or 3 core classes all year. Research says that retention doesn’t help after third grade. BUT! How can we move students to high school math or English with an entire year missing? Science? Social Studies? Not as important, but Math and ELA? Pivotal in their growth. What is the “right” answer? Opinions?
