I was asked to review and sign off on work papers I am not comfortable with and didn’t work on. If the work papers are not in good shape then to remove signatures before archiving. What should I do?

Don’t sign off?

like

I think 5x before signing off on my own WPs. If ur not comfortable see what’s making you uncomfortable and either fix it or get it fixed

likehelpful

Talk to partner. If doesn’t help, ethics hotline.
If you don’t sign, someone else will. And this may put firm in trouble or at least in uncomfortable situation.
One time, when we did re-occurring Internal Audit, a staff from last year Audit faked the evidence and it was called out as an audit issue. The client only discovered that when they were trying to fix it, and it looked bad

like

Isn't that the point of reviewing them? You review, fix what needs to be fixed, and sign off. Or let your senior or whoever know why you can't fix and sign off. No reason to go to partner right now, you'll make everyone look foolish.

Depending what is wrong with it, I usually send back for the person who did the WP to fix it before I sign off. I also let whoever is your direct manager (manager, senior manager, director...) know that you had to send it back. I don't sign off anything that I am not comfortable with because you will have to answer for it

Has anyone dealt with stuffing allocation in a non-hedge fund context? It seems even in the HF world the law is fuzzy in using aggregate reverse 704c principles in stuffing allocations. Like, sure, the market is there but no authority really blessed it (other than some Cravath partner’s article in Tax Notes in 2013). If we are talking asset class that isn’t really like marketable securities but might be able to treat it similarly solely by virtue of, say, valuation on a quarterly basis (contd)

Is there an expectation of a certain number of delivery requests being sent to an Uber Eats driver? Could there be a breach of contract if one driver notices others constantly being sent delivery requests by Uber but he waits 4 hours at a time without being sent a single delivery request? Is there any claim this person can bring? It has affected them financially. Initially, this was not the case but over time, the requests have significantly decreased.

Hey fishes,
Im facing a dilemma. I have two offers in hand:
1. PwC (offshore model) - Risk advisory (IT audit)
2. Goldman Sachs - Internal Audit (Securities Tech).
Both jobs are offering me almost the same overall compensation and benefits. I have around 2.5 years of experience in the field at a B4 firm. Is this a good time to switch to industry?
Please help me choose between the both. TIA.
