I think the BJP social media team is very strong and has done a very good job of swaying the public. That coupled with the lack of a strong opposition figure provides people with no other alternative. As for Modi, personally I’m not a fan of a lot of his policies. But from an economic standpoint a much better choice than the Gandhis

like

P1, because his social media showed that he accelerated the Gujarat gdp to incredible heights! Independent research show otherwise 🤷‍♂️ https://www.researchgate.net/publication/291565482_Did_Gujarat's_growth_rate_accelerate_under_Modi

Say what you want to say about him. But while the congis were in power we had so many terror attacks! I’m from Hyderabad and you can feel my pain. Gokul chat attack, lumbini park one. Then the Mumbai attacks! 2004-2014 was the worst! In 2013, Indian soldiers were beheaded and we were begging for their bodies. I don’t agree with a few things that modi does but, there hasn’t been a single civilian attack as far as I remember except the border attacks. I don’t want to think it’s just luck that we aren’t having any attacks, his folks have been working for national security. And I don’t trust congis with anything esp that pappu gandhi. So we gotta make it with what we have

I think he rose to power not because of his policies or leadership or anything else. He rose to power because of too much corruption under UPA govt, terrorist attacks every now and then, a general public perception that PM Manmohan Singh is forced to follow orders from Gandhi family, and general anti-incumbency factor. Modi’s genius was in exploiting all these factors and winning the election. He also succeeded in connecting with masses and make them believe that he is the right leader for them. Now, UPA is trying very hard but their public image and their clueless leader is not letting them take advantage of Modi’s failures.

"Was modi able to achieve his promises or does the bureaucracy prevents him from doing so" - In both the cases he is a great guy! Your statement sounded like Times now or Republic Tv headline.

As a minority - he is like Trump to me. He stokes the fires of hate and intolerance. Everything else he does pales in comparison.

I see people here saying that Modi has done well for the economy - why does that perception persist? If we look at the data, we can see that even before the pandemic Indian growth had slowed to 4% , in the pandemic India grew -8% compared to Pakistan (+0.5%) and Bangladesh (+2.5%). Bangladesh has passed India in per capita terms. You can also compare Modi to Manmohan Singh (FM: 1991 - 1996 / PM: 2004 - 2014). https://www.macrotrends.net/countries/IND/india/gdp-growth-rate

@simplus 1, Indians paid huge price over the years with Congress in power. Lots of communal riots under congress watch. Tired of congress vote bank politics and their shitty socialist policies

Unless the Gandhi dynasty leaves the party, Congress is not going to be a credible opposition. Personally not a fan of Modi because of his strong RSS views, his lack of COVID response, his corruption-free facade, but he’s good for the economy. Not so much for civil rights for the minority, but he’s doing well for the majority. (I’m a majority btw)

I think Modi is successful because of Congress failing to produce a capable looking leader.

Got stood up for a final round for a large tech firm. Interviewers didn't show and the calendar invite was sent a week in advance. Also noticed that the original position I was recruiting for was removed from the company's career section. Does this mean they moved on? Really wanted this role. Feeling down.

Hello everyone! This is my first time posting since joining this platform. I’m interested in connecting with someone who is open to HR mentoring. I’ve been in HR now for about six years and have never had a mentor. I’ve been relying mostly on SHRM and other people in the company for feedback. Even if it’s for feedback, I would really appreciate it. Thank you!

Alright - for the ladies who found other jobs while on mat leave: when did you give notice - on your first day back? And was that essentially your last day at the firm, or did you stick around for a few days to wrap things up? (The new gig doesn’t start for a few months, so that I can be childcare.) I suspect my firm won’t want to pay me for two weeks to just stick around without a project, correct? Thanks in advance for any anecdotes or helpful tips.
