Welcome to Whose Job is it Anyways! Where the deliverable is made up and the utilization doesn't matter.
Worked really hard on some work only for it to be discarded/not get utilized. Super demotivated right now...how can I change my mindset to feel better?
my partner always says you have to to reach out for work everyday when available and blames low utilization on the staff level when we have a dedicated resource manager. Is this industry standard?
How can utilization encourage efficiency? I have a 30hr code and I finished the work in 5hr. If I charge 5, the write up gives credit to the partner and my utilization suffers.
I’m 2.5 weeks out of training and haven’t been utilized to the full extent. I haven’t been staffed and rarely have been asked to complete smaller one-off projects. Who should I talk to? MD? Associate? Other analysts? Broader question is ‘how do I ask for work?’
When do utilization rates reset at PwC?
What are firms utilization and sales expectations for manager? My sales for first year manager is 1m and utilization is 70%. Is this generally normal, lenient, or aggressive? I’m at a small boutique ~100 people
Why does Deloitte's utilization calculation take 52 weeks x 40 hrs as the denominator, what about firm holidays?
For utilization, if the denominator is fixed to 2080 (40 x 52), there is no way you can be a 100% utilized even if you're staffed throughout the year and bill 8 hours per business day?
What time frame is used to measure our utilization metric? I'm pretty sure it's not our fiscal year, but sometime around April '16 - March '17?
Serious question: how do you "become" a top performer in a company? I get why some are viewed as rock stars or go-getters, but not how they do it or drum up the top-level support for it. Whenever I press to kickstart initiatives or push in a certain direction, the leadership is never interested in the actions or ideas. Instead, we just get told to bill hours and keep our utilization high. It's demoralizing how there is no support or interest in people that try to develop new areas or initiatives
What % utilization did you get as a 1st year analyst (BA or BTA)? What rating did that equate to?
New to FDD from audit. Any advice on getting utilization up? Frequently bouncing around on a deal two days at a time. Have the skill and talent to do great work, just need to show it
EY Utilization.... what's your full Utilization YTD? Specifically interested in other managers or senior managers.
Anyone in DT think that the utilization reports with everyone's name they send to all seniors and above is just a obnoxious shaming tactic ?
What was your utilization like after taking parental leave? About to take a couple months and I’m curious how much it will impact my year end utilization % (not that this will impact how long I take off).EY
Going to Europe for 10 days for vacation. Flights is ATL - London. Delta is offering 2k voucher to take a later flight. Hmmm

Big 4 people. Is there a difference in entry level salary between audit/tax and consulting?
Does Deloitte still reimburse for adoption fees?
Any other Deloitte folks get screwed in their year end rating because of low utilization since there were so few projects to be had earlier this year? Manager openly said it was "beyond my control".
I'm an ArtDir working in US with 3.5 yrs exp., US Advertising Masters degree, 2 years exp in India. I'm planning to move to Toronto this year. What's the salary range I can expect if I go client side?
Does anyone know a good way to get alerts for when other firms sent out publication or points of view on specific accounting standard?
I’ve been sober about 14 months, and now with things opening up more I’ve been going out to dinner, concerts etc with friends. I’ve been finding it hard to have fun, or not get restless while out. I think a large part of this is maybe I find the company around me boring? and they’re also all drinking. Maybe I just needed to write that out and vent to say, I’m bored! Maybe saying that out loud will help me get out of my comfort zone to find new activities that change my outlook.
Tfw youre going on vacation but still have a crap load of work unfinished and a lot more new work waiting for you when you come back... And of course I’ll be thinking about that while on “vacation”..
Feeling guilty for taking a 30/45 mins lunch break and finishing the day before 7pm. But I guess I finished my tasks for the day and I can just tackle the rest tomorrow. Is that acceptable. I feel like I lost track of when to stop since WFH
Can you renegotiate start up signed offer based on counter from current company as a result of informing them of your departure? Or is it frowned up/starting new role on a bad foot
Interviewer: are you open to travel? Out of state and overseas. Me: I am open to that (calmly), Me (Inside): ANYTIME!!! Then u stuck with the same client 2miles from ur home for 15 month#storyofmylife
Anyone know how to update the settings on IOS Skype for business so the app doesn’t continuously log you out after changing applications? Any recommendations?
Hi. Does anyone know the policy for reapplying to Deloitte? I failed the preliminary coding interview and I don't know the exact time period to wait before I can reapply for jobs at Deloitte.
Hi All, I currently hold an offer for 28.2L + 1.5 Joining bonus in Lilly and got selected in EY GDS waiting for HR round, how much can I expect from EY? I have submitted documents to EY GDS on 11th October. When can I expect call from HR as well?
Boomers are often considered selfish, right? Consider the following: People over the age of 75 comprise 54% of COVID deaths. At that age, the actuarial tables aren’t exactly favorable to begin with. By contrast, people under the age of 50 comprise 7% of COVID deaths. Throwing the world into a state of absolute chaos (thereby sticking younger generations with the long-term consequences) is next level.
