I was fired with someone else’s number and never got a proper write up . I was with the company for eight years. I didn’t have a write up before that one. This seems to happen within two months of me reporting my manager for unlawful recruiting practices.

What do you mean with someone else's number?

like

The write up I got was with another employee‘s numbers for the year. And when I brought that up I was told it didn’t matter the write up was still the same.

Contact the EEOC and report workplace retaliation

like

You can contact the EEOC/DOL if you believe you were fired in retaliation for your report.

I would say that’s only setting this back. I completely understand that this ended up burning you, but at the end of the day this can and will most likely happen again or your former employer will likely continue their unlawful recruiting practices that will in turn impact those incoming for that company and those currently there. I would still suggest at least ing contacting EEOC/DOL as it seems like you have a good case given the information you provided here.

If buy the partners you work with regularly a holiday gift, how much do you spend? Usually I get baked goods or food items which you can’t tell the actual amount spent on. This year, though, I’d like to support local restaurants by encouraging people to order takeout—hence, giving gift cards.

How much is appropriate for a restaurant gift card from an associate to a partner?

Using the phrase “don’t be a pu**y” in the workplace? — I just started at a tech start-up company, coming from a large corporate accounting firm. Hi,
I just joined a company, I liked the work as per JD, but when I entered the team, I feel there is not much to learn and grow in that particular team. There are different teams in the department in which I am hired. Can I ask the AVP of department to shift me in another team of same department, I have joined the organization 1 week ago, shall I talk to my TL before telling AVP or should not say at all. Will it create any bad image of me infront of my AVP and my TL. Plz suggest..

I added a well recognized litigator in my area at a top firm on LinkedIn... reason being is that I’m a first year in litigation and hope to accomplish at least half the things he has in my career. So it’s interesting to see his takes on things when he engages on a post.

I’m tempted to send him a personal message, not for a job or anything, but honestly just to ask “how he did it” and what advice he might give.

Is there any harm in this? Don’t wanna be annoying.

I’m mid-level in my HR career at my current company and an upcoming Master’s graduate. Studying for my SHRM-CP too. How did you make the transition to that next level? What skills do you need, or is it really just based on YOE (I am the youngest compared to my teammates, many who have 10+ YOE)? I feel like career pathing is not very clear at my company. Each time I ask for guidance on this from my manager, I get told they’ll look into it.... would love some external mentorship and thoughts 🙏🏼

I thought I found the perfect position in March but I was let go today. I was blindsided. Never a complaint, my reviews were excellent and I got along well with the owners. My only issue was the PEO not speaking with me and going directly to the owners with her agenda. I asked ownership to work with me and I would pull the PEO in, if necessary. Apparently, they have a longstanding friendship and he does not think of them as a vendor as a friend. She suggested a on-site PEO rep and out I go!
