I was hired as a Sourcer. I am on track to be promoted to a full cycle recruiting role as I have done the job for the past 6 months to prove myself (and am the only recruiter on the team). I have been told I will be promoted but really want to figure out how to nail down a specific time frame/compensation with my manager. COVID has made this more difficult than it typically would be since the company isn’t doing many bonuses/promotions.

Hi Fishes,

I was offered RSUs for the first time as part of my compensation. I think I understand the concept as such but there are a few intricacies I was looking to clarify. Could anyone let me know if my grant date is 9th nov, 2022 and vesting period is 1 year, will I get RSUs allotted at the price of stock on grant date or vest date (in this case 9th nov, 2023)? Happy to connect in DMs as well

Thank you for your time!

I NEED to leave my current job as it becomes repetitive and boring to be here. Being with one organization for more than a decade puts me into comfort zone without challenges. I am looking for a change and was interviewed by other companies. One of them is offering a role which is one level down and not much attractive pay as per my expectation. Should I just take the offer while continuing to search? Or wait for perfect opportunity but still work here?

What sources or type of information have you used when discussing/asking for a raise at your work? I often see people say that you should be prepared with market research to make your case, but where do you get this from? Have you used Glassdoor, fishbowl or LinkedIn as a “valid” source for these conversations? Other sources? How have you made your case? “Here is the avg pay for this role according to Glassdoor” just curious what has worked for you.

My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.

I’m mid-level in my HR career at my current company and an upcoming Master’s graduate. Studying for my SHRM-CP too. How did you make the transition to that next level? Each time I ask for guidance on this from my manager, I get told they’ll look into it.... would love some external mentorship and thoughts 🙏🏼

Hi all!
Would love some insight on how you went from an HR assistant/coordinator to an HR Generalist. I’ve been in the HR world for 8 years, and only in the last 2-3 have I really done real HR work. The first company I was at didn’t have a solid HR team so I don’t really count that. I feel like I’m ready to take on more responsibility and learn more. And of course make more money.

I have looked into getting SHRM certification. But should I go back to school and get my masters in Hr?
