I was laid off from Stripe this past November and I’m having the damnest time finding work that’s not more than a $10k pay cut! I made a career change for that role and have less than a year of experience. I was only making 85k but it was huge for me since I left another company that I couldn’t break more than 60k in salary after 8 years because I was sick of not being able to have what I want. Anyone else experiencing this?

What role are you in? May I suggest that you accept the pay cut on the next job offer which clicks with you. $10k is not a lot of money in the grand scheme of things. It’s a recession… lock in the job that you like, thrive in it, and you’ll make that $10k back easy

Maybe I worded it wrong. I’ve been getting offers for much much less, I’m willing to take a 10k paycut, it’s more that’s bothering me. I’ve had recruiters talking to me about roles that pay 45-55k! I’m genuinely interested how people maintain alone on these salaries, with rent being high among other things! I made that kind of money and struggled….

I was in the sales tax dept at stripe, coming from “marketing” at a telecommunications company. During my last hunt I realized my skill set wasn’t what other companies desired in marketing so I took a leap of faith and made a career pivot.

Trying my best not to be pessimistic. But DAMN I feel like I got screwed!

Having company provided health benefits would far outweigh taking a 10k pay cut for now.

My contract ended March 17. I’ve gotten so many recruiters contacting me yet I’ve only had two interviews that panned out to nothing. I’m looking at Project Management but some of these people want to low ball me when I have 12 years experience in the field.

Look for a fully remote role. My company pays well for remote PM role in the US. 6 digits, private dental and healthcare, 401k etc. flexible working and people literally don’t even do much… a lot of people should be let go tbh. And here is me… working very hard, outperforming others with 5 years prior PM SaaS implementations experience, but based in the UK and getting paid a lot less. Less than minimum they pay in the US at my company!!! I asked for a pay rise today and I’ve been disappointed with the way my boss’s boss reacted after seeing hard numbers and evidence how I perform vs other peers. It is ridiculous. I’m going to be working on a side hustle and quitting 9-5. Otherwise I will always be underpaid and overachiever for nothing. But - for US guys it’s a great place to work 😂 so look at remote roles. We’re currently looking for extra 2 PMs in the US 😂

Hello fellow HR pros! I really need your opinions on HR certifications. I am deciding between PHR and SHRM-cp. I have read just about all there is online comparing the two and can not decide. I work for a 350~ company who is growing rapidly through M&A. Passions/interests are compliance, strategic vision, M&A, branding and culture

My school deliberately cut the number of classes that the specials teachers teach so that we could be building subs for quarantined and sick teachers (we are hybrid). So... I teach fewer classes (which is a relief because specials teachers teach way more classes than core teachers normally) but I'm pulled for most of my planning periods to babysit classes. I need my planning periods so I can redo my ENTIRE curriculum... and I just feel unappreciated, used, and nothing more than a babysitter.

As I'm moving to a new role in a small company, I have a doubt about my salary structure like the Basic salary part is only 20,000 while my take home is 62k after all deductions.

I'm concerned because the leave encashment & other things totally depends on the basic salary.

Are there not any rules for the Basic salary to be at a certain % of CTC or it depends totally on the company?

Also PF deductions they are offering only 1800 p.m but considering 20000 basic it should be 12% of 20000 right?
