I was offered a new position within a different business line, but my same parent company. I accepted and transition January, long transition period so I can wrap up current projects.
My issue - I just found out that I’m pregnant, due in July (surprise baby 3)…
Obviously I didn’t tell them during the interview process, as I didn’t know, hadn’t even conceived when I started talks. Struggling with when to tell them - what’s the fine line between too early/risky and disrespectfully late?

Firstly, congratulations on the new position and the new addition to the family! I am in the exact same situation — due in June and accepted an internal promotion with a start date in January. I found out about my pregnancy during the interview process and plan to connect with my new manager before the holidays to disclose my pregnancy before my start date. I want to start off on the right foot and enable us to plan appropriately for my leave as I begin in my new role!

Ultimately, follow your gut and share when you feel comfortable! Someone on this page shared the sentiment with me that they’ve hired me as a long term investment and a pregnancy shouldn’t change that. I’m sure it’ll be a little uncomfortable for both of us to share the news, but wishing you luck! Congrats again!!

Congratulations!! It sounds like you could be around 9ish weeks? I would wait around 20 weeks to tell your new employer. I’m sure they will be understanding 😊

How to push for promotion? I am doing much more and much better than peers at the level above me. Ie: level of hires, time to fill, number of hires, building partnerships with internal stakeholders. Being recognized by candidates, hiring managers, nominations for awards each quarter, winning a couple. Been in this role for 1 year, foot on the gas the whole time.

Hey everyone, I need some advise. I've been interviewing for a company for the last 4weeks. The salary was originally discussed as (say Xk) but the recruiter I'm working with said today that they "realigned the goals" and brought the salary down to (Xk-10). I wasn't even okaay with Xk tbh, and now they've gone ahead and reduced it by 10k! I'm attending the final round on Friday - do y'all have any tips on how I can negotiate my salary to X+10 and let them know that this is highly unprofessional?

I am under qualified for a job that I KNOW I can do. They’ve asked for a certain number of years of experience and I don’t have it. However, I do have some experience in the exact requirements for the role. What can I do to position myself to get an interview from my resume alone? Should I add a cover letter? What should I include? I have 2-3 YOE, but they’re asking for 5.

I'm trying to suss out if a new member of our dept hates me or my team (she manages a different team).

My initial take is she's just hard to read and probably a tightly controlled introvert. My direct report felt she's 'cold as ice,' 'bristling' at our suggestions, and forming a clique that wants to do their own thing with no input from our team. He's triggered very easily, and there was no explicit evidence, just a 'vibe' so I wrote it off. (See 1st comment)

I am currently at a firm and received an in-house offer. Aside from main items like comp and big ticket benefits like PTO/health insurance/401k, what other items do I need to think about discussing/negotiating? Anything else I should consider?
