I have a condition and want to know your opinions. I have given a particular date 30th May of joining in offer letter Legato Health Technologies , but now they are saying that the joining will be delayed by a day Or two.
I am getting confused about this and also getting a little bit afraid as well as I have already says no to other offers and now this happens...

For those thinking that a jump from $85k to $170/$200k is unbelievable… I recently went from $90k (way underpaid) to $175k. Same title and literally same work just different company. Ladies, get what’s yours. The more we talk about it, the more we know the climate and demand.
So the company is McCann, what is the title? Lol

The agency ended up coming back with an offer of:
- Salary: $175k
- Signing bonus if I relocate before Labor Day : $15k
- Relocation: $20k
- Annual bonus: 15-20% of salary with potential for more based on business wins (organic growth or new business)
- I can hire a Jr and Sr strategist, and get an intern quarterly
- Promotion conversation, 13 months after start date
I’m going to accept this offer on Monday.

Not sure it’s low ball if it’s your first director job, or it’s more than you are making now. I would say 200k is on the high end for a strat director, so looks like your getting offered what you are worth

Acting as if we all get paid the same. I’ve always negotiated for more. As a Black woman, I know that I will be asked to be the face or one of the unpaid faces of DEI efforts and this is part why I require more money.
Why don’t you counter? It’s not unusual to get a low offer

if you were a senior just a year ago, $150k is a pretty solid offer for a newly minted director with only a year as an AD. the highest i’ve seen in nyc for new directors is $160ish. 200k is something you’ll only find in pharma/healthcare, OR if you’re a seasoned director bringing several YOE at that level. it’s at the very high end of the band for strat directors at creative agencies. $150k is fair, but props for asking for more. negotiation is such a case-by-case, situational circumstance, so why not ask?
$145k for Strat AD is very good (NYC market). This is analytics pay scale, imo. Seems your company values you.

I don’t know. I feel like there’s always a target on your back in advertising. All the more important to get that money while you’re still going.
$170k is even low. Should be $180k base minimum in healthcare at director level. 20% variable pay minimum. So you should be around $200k TC.
Svp1 - I am an L7 principal product manager at AMZN. Former big 4 workday consultant. Worked with many of the fortune 100 and top ad agencies on HR transformation. I definitely, definitely know more than you about advanced comp and salary ranges in your industry. I’ve seen it all, quite literally.

$150K is about right. I don’t think anyone is worth more because of the color of their skin, just as it’s problematic to want to pay someone LESS because of the color of their skin. If you can get more, great....

I am not saying that I am worth more because I am Black. I am saying I am worth more than $150k (typical Strategy Director salary) because there is a low supply of me (Black people) according ad agencies but a big demand for me. When there is demand but supply is low, the price goes up
If this is an advertising holding company (vs the type mentioned above) 100% correct. Director level should command way more than $150K. I’m getting $150K at Group Copy Sup in pharma, which is 2 levels below Director.
CS1- that’s pretty high. Pharma directors generally make $180k base and 20% variable.
A year ago you were on $85K. Now you have the ability to get promoted as you move (something many agencies don’t do) and get $150K. And yet you’ve convinced yourself you’re worth $200K.
You must either be really good. Or deluded. The fact you’re even considering pharma jobs suggest the latter.
Agree you should get that money if you can. But pay bands, you’re going on very high. You can be bold and walk away, but you can also miss out on great jobs and teams if you expect top end of a band or outside it at an entry level of that position. Also, I think @op may be slightly over hyped in headlines, there are enough google sheets and salary sharing to know white women aren’t getting insane offers and $145 as an ASD is high and $200 for a strategy director promo is high. Keep us posted. I hope you do get it
