This is kind of a formal apology to everyone who believed in me that I let down, or micromanaged, or was indecisive with, or didn’t inspire or give guidance to. CD isn’t an easy job and it’s taken me years to settle into this role. I wasn’t prepared for it and I was too young.
I always felt if they promoted you to stay why didn’t they promote you to keep you from thinking about other opportunities, assuming in a timely manner. Same with counter offers, the higher the counter offer, the harder the slap, and the more I would want to leave because now they’re leaving a bad impression on their part. It’s a catch 22 so it is always important that leadership understands your situation and help or at least try to be transparent to an extent about what they can do
