Partners make very good money. But there are hundreds of people at my company alone that make what a senior partner makes.
Where do you work and can I start there next Monday?

I mean, many of us are pretty rich. I have two nice houses (“mansion” depends, I guess, on how you choose to define it… they’re both around 5000 SF and one overlooks the ocean). I could buy a Lamborghini in cash tomorrow if I wanted one. Just don’t happen to want it.
Not private jet rich. That’s true.
You did, M1
My search is also very conscious of the lambo it shares with me
Is this a joke?
Partners’ wealth pales in comparison to the elite in industry.
I didn’t know. This is my first job out of college.
Some of the partners I work with drive Hyundai’s and wear Jos. A Banks suits. They ain’t pulling in lambo money
Suitsupply. Huge upgrade in fit and fabric.
I f*ed up. I meant they are NOT that rich. 🙄
I Can’t. 😮

I'm not one for lambos, but my wife legit suggested I buy a Ferrari yesterday.
I have rented planes for birthday trips, and boats in the Mediterranean. It isn't that expensive. But no. I don't own my own.
Being a Big Four Partner is a lucrative profession for sure - how wealthy can depend on a lot of factors, but all Partners do quite well in comparison.
Often, I wonder if we should be more transparent with our employees on Partner Comp. The good would be they understand the income potential more fully and “push through” the tough times. The bad would be it may create an even bigger disconnect or gap between a Partner and your average practitioner.
Thoughts?

I share the following:
- start
- Average PMD comp
- top PMD performer comp
- retirement
If you understand the life cycle earnings, it is much more compelling.
What?
Lamborghini could buy cash but private jet no way. Unless you subscribe to those jet service.
Private jet money is a different league - even with something small like a citation 5 (regarded as a budget friendly light jet) you’re easily looking at $1-1.5m of annual operating costs after spending $1.5-3m to buy one. Everything else you’ve listed is easily attainable on partner money if you prioritize it.
Out of curiosity with income do you consider enough to live the lambo / private jet lifestyle?
I guess the whole thing was born out of the fact that my partner told me he takes the metra from the suburbs to the office and I was heart broken because I just felt like he is a partner for 12 years. He would be coming in a fancy black car with some one opening the door not riding the el like me. And I went to another partners home for a dinner, and he just had a WV in his garage and that was another heart break. Like in my head partners were just like on a whole next level. Like truffle, caviar, personal chef crowd but also I think I was like way too noob. Truly realizing it’s not Kansas anymore
Keanu takes subway as well
Whatever. I’m super rich and crazy important and got Elon on speed dial. On my wired phone 📞 in my MacLaren. That was given to me by Prince Andrew. After I agreed to never discuss private island trips. Which I totally went on traveling in my G500 with custom “Analyst Tears” interior.
It’s not Big Mac Laren?
Large house on golf course / sea side , whatever car one wants , a nice boat - those are all possible for most partners at some point . A few subscribe to jet services - but I don’t know any partner who owns a jet outright
I think you have to define a “nice boat”. Lol
There are plenty that partners can’t afford.
