Hi all. I joined IBM on 30th May 2022. There has been an unfortunate incident where my mother has fallen very sick due to some infection and most likely she has to be admitted to the hospital.
Can anyone tell me what is the process of taking sick leaves in IBM ? And how many sick leaves can we get in a year?
Thanks in advance.

After uploading documents in Bosch First Services one week ago, there was no update from them, when I replied to them via mail - They said we will get back to you.Is this sign of getting compensation breakup or they looking for other candidates.I have offer from CGI and only 3 days is remaining to accept. What should I do in this case?As CGI has said if you don't join after accepting offer we will blacklist you.

If it is physically making you sick then resign. If you can hold off, look for another job then resign.
It posted before I could finish... Your health is more important. If you can't recoup then you can't work. I've learned we are 1000% replaceable.
You should def interview for other jobs before quitting! Make sure you have something to fall back on whether it's savings or just another position
If you are teaching English, I suggest you quit.
Wow! That’s a bit harsh.
As a lifer, if you are only in a few years, I suggest you leave and find something else that you love to do.
I worked at a middle school in New Jersey for 23 years. I think the last several years have been difficult for many reasons. Several years ago my school endured the sudden death of a beloved teacher (totally accidentally, not intentional). The following years brought the deaths of two students, then the pandemic and the problems that are occurring now. I can say with certainty that we have weathered circumstances that they never taught in college. Much of what we went through was a conscious effort on the part of the staff to help each other and support each other get through the year amid trying times. If teaching is truly what is in your heart to do, then I suggest interviewing at other schools. It might be a building atmosphere thing. If you search your heart and decide that you have had enough, then don’t second guess what you are feeling.
I suppose that depends upon your financial situation, and whether you can survive the gap if you don't immediately land another job.
But generally speaking, if you're miserable at the job and hate it, I would suggest quitting sooner than later. And that's for two reasons. First, because it's not good for your own mental health. But second, it's not fair to the students to have a teacher that's not totally invested in their best interests... and that's near impossible to do if you hate what you're doing.
That's not to say it's your fault or anything; it's just that it's in everyone's best interests (not just yours) to get out if you really don't like doing it.
If it is causing mental, physical, or emotional harm to you, especially this early on, then it is not worth it. The past two years have been extreme, but I am not confident at all that it will get much better unless there is a drastic change.

GHS1- You give me hope for a rejuvenated spirit. I’m hanging on another year. I had hoped to teach for 4 more, but the past few years have been exhausting and hard. This year was terrible with the return to 100% in person. I work so hard to keep rigor and support high while keeping my subjects interesting and relevant, but kids are way too apathetic and have problems teachers can’t solve. We are not their parents.
USE SOME SICK DAYS!!!! YES CALL IN SICK! Mental health is important too! Sometimes we need breaks for rest perspective etc
If you think you might like teaching in a different situation try different school or changing grade level. If you think you won't like teaching please finish the year if you can. And you got a paid summer to find another job.
The past two years have been hard! It is hard enough without the pandemic add that weight and yes, it’s been though! Consider changing grades. Maybe you’re in the wrong grade or wrong team.
Maybe you should consider if you had all the money in the world what would you love to do? Go for what gives you joy. I get to go to school to support my kids every day. I love the idea of being able to do this and they pay me for it, sweet.

The year is nearly over. If you need health benefits, you shouldn’t resign until you find another job.

Try high school.

Resign. It's not good for you. Not good for the kids.
I'm wondering it I am going to make it to the end of the school year. I figure it's a win if my stomach doesn't give out during class. I can't tell you how many emergency sub plans I have written because I wasn't sure I would make it through class.
I would try to find something else first unless you don't need the income. I feel like it is so hard to find a job when you don't have one. It is so much easier to find one when you have one. I am so sorry you are experiencing this though.
If you are so ill that you risk having a major health crisis, like a heart attack or stroke, I’d leave now. If not, I’d try to stick it out for three more weeks or however long you have until the semester is over. My best to you.
