How can I stay competitive? I left my job back in February to focus on some other things. I just got back into applying two months ago and I haven’t had much success.
I think a big reason is the massive gap on my resume. I’ve been turned down next step interviews implicitly stating the gap. What can I do or say that won’t deter companies? Received a written offer from Amazon 4 wks ago, pushed for higher level, reinterview. HM supported it but couldn’t get it done. My og offer went from start date of oct 10 to Jan 3rd. Recruiter said the numbers are locked. I couldn’t reach the HM. Running out of time I accepted. I contacted the HM again saying yay! I accepted. I Have been ghosted for 5 days. Recruiter said background check should come via email soon. Haven’t seen anything. Weirdest experience ever. Why wouldn’t the HM reply?

What’s a fair expectation for my first raise? I’m in-house at a publicly traded co with ~2500 employees. I’ve been doing litigation with the company for almost 3 yrs and have only had a 2% cost of living raise so far. Graduated in 2014. Base comp is $127.5k in the Philly area. I see salaries all over the place in this site and it’s hard to tell whether mine is competitive.

Here is my issue. I left my firm this summer for an opportunity I should have known was to good to be true. I realized it wasn’t what I was led to believe. Was able to return to my old firm. The return was “a favor”. But includes conditions. I am not happy, and need a change and honestly more money now rather than in 6-8 months. I knew it would be ruff when I went back but I didn’t expect it to be this ruff. Is my recent history gonna be a huge hurdle to even get an interview?

Hello, I am finalist for an in house position at a major academic health center. I’ve been asked to take a one hour written exam consisting of a hypothetical assignment. I’m quite nervous and don’t really know how to prepare or strategize. I’d be so grateful for any advice

I interviewed at a law firm and had my final round last Friday. The Tuesday afterward, I got a call from the recruiter saying the firm won’t have a decision for another week. I believe they’re interviewing other candidates. Does that make me second or third choice? And does the fact that I’m working with a recruiter hurt my chances of being selected due to the commission? Should I hold out for the offer or is 1+ week a sign that I won’t be selected?

Any notice how many of these legal recruiters took ppp loans? Sadly not shocked, but how can they not be embarrassed to take ppp loans while still advertising jobs/recruiting and bragging about all their placements on their websites.
