Question about retirement limits... Possible to contribute $19k to Roth 401k and separate $19k to traditional 401k?
Step by step guide to giving notice? Getting closer and closer to the date I’m going to give notice, but can people with experience put in some tips or advice, like 401k rollover etc.
Deloitte fish, which medical insurance plan is better? I’m looking at AETNA and UHG PPO. Comparing only these two. If anyone can explain the details and benefits, it’d be great.
If you’d have to explain the 1x1 of investment to someone that doesn’t know a thing, what would you say? Where tf do I start? What apps do I use? How much money do I need? Checking in from Germany, so 401k etc. are not an option here.
To those maxing out all retirement/savings account and being able to save even more in a brokerage acct/real estate: what is your salary/age/COL? When did you start maxing everything out? I’m in my mid 30’s and started career late (foreigner, bar exam). Just opened my 401k up to matching. Really couldn’t before because of HCOL and lack of income. Trying to see if there is light at the end of my tunnel.
Any great healthcare companies in Colorado?
If I start a new job this month and contributed 17k to my Big4 401k this year, do I just tell the new 401k how much % to take from each pay check to hit 2500 from now till Jan? How will they be able to know if I accidentally go over?

Can I be fired for refusing to travel right now? Don’t want to due to covid risk. Raised this concern but was told I might just have to anyways. Can they fire me if I just don’t go? I’ve said very clearly I will not go, and don’t think they’re going to accept that answer.
I got offer from vmware. I recently joined a company about 6 month back and If I am switching vmware in short time, I wanted to have a long term (~5 yrs) career with it. Techskills wise, I am good and learner. I heard recently, vmware layoffs particular team at China even though they have good tech skills. Should I join with VMware ? I currently lead a non-Tech team at a Tech F500 as a VP but can't get any FAANG/growth Tech interviews. I've been targeting Google L5/L6 equivalent given the tendency to downlevel, but no luck even with referrals. I can get Microsoft equivalent type companies but not any of the hot ones. Are FAANGs only targeting candidates from other FAANGs? How do I get my foot in the door?
Just got an offer for a Sr. AWS DevOps role at 145K, I will be working remotely 100% with maybe 5% travel, if any. No bonus with this company. I have over 8 years of DevOps and AWS, all AWS certs . Should I be asking for more $? Thoughts on the offer and how much more $ I should be asking for ? Current location is kinda irrelevant since I will be working remotely.

Outside of hiring an agency I’m looking for innovative ways to recruit marketing talent, any suggestions?!
Ever been promoted at your firm while on a project and you have to be rolled off bc your billable rate is higher than what the client has budgeted? Or does your firm find this as an opportunity to renegotiate the SoW?
Started new job at a non-F500 (CorpDev) this week (got offered +45% over my previous base). Received an offer today from EY, which is +35% over my current base. I kinda like the CorpDev gig more and have very little motivation to join EY (that particular team). Can I still use their offer to pump up my current base here at the non-F500? How can I ask for a raise and not set wrong impression so early on?
Officially promoted from Staff 2 to Senior. Was identified as an "outstanding performer." What's the raise going to look like? (Southeast Assurance)

Partners: How do some partners get fired? I know that on the surface it is due to their performance, but i am curious if you have any data points or observations on any underlying drivers. I work for a global firm, and though most partners I know are lifers, i personally have worked with a couple partners who were counseled out. They were seemingly good, competent consultants good at structuring problems. They cared about junior consultants. Didnt see any issues with clients..
Say you had a month long project to work on completely alone. and then you finished in a week. Would you wait a bit to let everyone know it is completed early? If yes, how much time would you wait?
How many vacation days have you been able to negotiate? Are you in a market that pays you for unused days? Do your days roll over to next year? If unlimited, how many do you actually take?
