I went to Ikea for the first time in my life today. I never knew what I was missing out on 🤩

Umm my interior goal is to go IKEA free, I have only two textile items from a while back, so yay. IKEA is for teenagers and 20 y.o., if you’re past 30 get you life together and buy nice furniture (used; vintage if $ is a problem). IKEA is the H&M of furniture, and I would never set my foot in H&M anymore either. Support local designers and brands, don’t create more pollution by purchasing items made by underpaid children who die in horrible conditions. You vote with your money.

@AD1 - no one is asking you to apologize for working hard or your interests etc. what most people here are taking exception to is you looking down on other people’s choices. If you want to spend your hard earned money on vintage pieces and take pride in the custom design of your home in a way that reflects your uniqueness, more power to you! It certainly makes sense given your career. For most people on here, that is not considered to be valuable investment of their money. From how I’ve seen the word used, “basic” is not a compliment. So yeah, you do come across as an unlikable elitist who may be overcompensating for something. The people on here proudly owning their love of IKEA in the face of your criticism are the ones with the true character.

What type of self help strategies do individuals actually find helpful when you feel burn out or stuck in a rut? Any books, apps, meditation, podcasts, etc, others find helpful? I've done therapy and it has definitely helped this past year with covid and a marriage separation, starting to feel like I'm making progress and want to keep up the momentum. Looking to see what type of self help others find actually beneficial and would love to use that to help others stuck in burn out too
