Hi fishes. Have an offer from Protiviti india and one of the clauses was we can't deny to travel. It also came up 2-3 times during discussions but the HR said they had many offshore roles too after I said am not looking to travel in the near future. Just wanted to check if that's just a routine clause or if anyone had issues reg this Protiviti India

Grab should be ok, but arranging a car means someone is waiting for you and knows exactly where you are supposed to go. To hire a car in BKK is really cheap and I always have arranged a car.
Just keep in mind that if something goes wrong with the app, your phone, or the Internet, you will be in the hands of a taxi anyways. There is nothing worse than landing in a new country and the payment system being down in the app you are using.
You have another option other than what’s noted before. Once you land, Look for the AOT booth in the baggage claim area. They have clean, efficient and reliable car options. It’s between Grab and hotel in terms of pricing. I always take them from the airport - go there quite a bit - find them very good.
Grab should be okay.
Just got back from Bangkok. Grab is technically illegal at the airport so we had to find our driver a little ways out because they weren’t comfortable coming by the taxis. Something to keep in mind, if there’s a language barrier it might be hard to find them. I was with someone who spoke Thai and it was still difficult to find them.
Thanks. So normal taxi at the airport is not recommended?
Grab is basically the dominant Uber/Lyft in SE Asia. They guarantee you the price you’ll pay for your ride; some taxis are sketchy as they rigged their meters (few of my friends didn’t know and got charged for $20 when the ride was just barely $4 if they would have used Grab)
Spent 8+ months in bangkok. Never had a problem with taxis, taken many from the airport
