I don’t have kids and had never been to Disney until I was 44 and working at Deloitte. It was the first time in a really long time that I disconnected from work since I couldn’t exactly take the laptop with me to the park. That gave me a huge appreciation for Disney.
I also got really high at the park and was walking around having my mind blown, and didn’t speak for over an hour I was in such awe. 😆
I excited consulting. Problem solved! I took 2 weeks off in July and left my laptop at home.
I did that plenty of times.

You can drink around the world (at overpriced bars).
Or you could have taken all that money and GONE somewhere, and drank there?
Never got to go as a child
I never went as a child and nor did I want to go. I don't understand the fascination.

Friends and I were just talking about this a few days ago! For what people spend at Disney, they could totally go to Europe, or a billion other places. Americans…!
It’s fun. I love Disney 😭

That honestly sounds to me like the 2nd worst vacation (1st being one of those large cruise ships). Youd have to pay me to go on either
Chief
Better pay double for that

Why do you care?
And actually sound logic for the post, even tho no logic in posting is necessary

They are still children on the inside
I do that. Disney is fun! I like to go to Disney since I was a kid. Another reason is going to Disney require minimal planning.

Well, if you build Space Mountain somewhere that's not Disney, I'll happily go there instead 🤷
Since you can drink in the parks it’s honestly pretty fun…animal kingdom in particular has fantastic drinks, as does Epcot 🤷🏼♀️
I knew a couple that went every year for their anniversary. Every. Single. Year. They never had kids. Kept going. There’s some value to the nostalgia and “magic” (marketing machine?) that really resonates with adults as much as it does with kids.

Yeah this would be a big no from me dawg. That’s wild I truly don’t get it
I think it’s nostalgic, either taking my kids there or being there as a kid. It’s a piece of history and something that brings probably happy memories to most of their youth that they can sort of relive again. I am one who goes with a fellow Disney fan when we don’t have the kids. It’s clean fun and there are different experiences without kids (no complaining, drinking and taking your time) which make it a different experience with nostalgia. I am one of those freaks I guess

People do that? Wtf 😂
Just because something is themed a certain way doesn’t mean it isn’t meant for people of all ages. There are legitimately great rides, world class food, various festivals that adults will appreciate more than kids (food and wine September - October), and great accommodations.
Also, some people like vacationing where the main activity isn’t getting plastered on a beach. Who needs a beach when you can get drunk in a theme park?
BCG, not sure what you would consider world class food, but...Celebrity chefs include Morimoto, art smith, Wolfgang puck, Jose Andres and more. Chicago steakhouse empire Gibson’s own the Boathouse, Victoria and Alberts for extra fancy, and a number of other high quality places you could put in NYC that would kill it.
The Disney runs are the best!
That’s gross. But seriously, Zoomers only want dogs and freedom, no kids. We are their growth strategy and the future of Disney with the slowing birth rate is big kids.
Ppl in LA don’t see Disneyland as a ‘vacation’ but as something to do. It’s not as big of a deal to them w the season passes
Exactly. When you live up the street and are free to go at any time and leave when the crowds get bad it’s literally no big deal.

I generally agree with you. But a couple years ago my bf and I went to Disneyland for one day during our winter holiday, as I hadn't ever been there at Christmas and he hadn't been in 25+ years. A friend tipped me off to one of the many blogs with hacks to make the most of a Disney visit, and as a result even on the busiest day of the year (!) we were able to go on 14 rides and get front row seats for the evening laser/fireworks show. We had a blast going on all the rides, the decorations were so pretty, and we wouldn't have been able to cram that all in with kids.
But that was enough Disney for me for another 10-20 years or whatever.
