I wore a sleeveless blouse like this one below for a zoom interview. Is that okay/biz casual? The v neck part keep parting apart so I had to pull it together multiple times during the interview.

I wouldn’t go bare shoulders. Put a jacket or cardigan on top. Also if you have to constantly adjust it, just use some fashion tape to keep it in place.

@EY1 the interviewer was wearing a T-shirt. It’s an e-commerce company

I personally do think it’s unprofessional to wear a top that keeps coming apart and you have to pull it together, because it’s distracting and focus should be on you and your skills. But it wouldn’t put me off hiring someone if they were good. Just wear something else (that is not faulty/poorly fitting) in future so that they can see you in your best light. I also personally would cover my arms, but that’s just my preference and again it wouldn’t put me off hiring someone.

I wear a lot of sleeveless tops at the office (shoulders covered) for a jeans casual dress code. But any clothing that needs constant adjusting is a no-go as it’s distracting and probably annoying for you.

It’s business casual, I would leave blouses out of it. Tech and ecom are way more chill. Wear a nice knit with you’re hair done and v light natural make up. It still put together but more relaxed.

The general rule of thumb is to avoid anything that you have to fuss with and can cause a distraction, even in a business casual setting and especially for an interview.

Advice for a college senior? My sister has a 3.99 and extracurricular involvement at UMD, but her junior internship plans were derailed due to the pandemic. She’s been applying to entry level programs or roles in marketing and editorial, but a lot of them require prior internship experience in the space, which she wasn’t able to get. I just left my old firm and opened my own practice. I practice estate planning and elder law so it is not uncommon to meet clients at their homes or nursing facilities. Because we are in the middle of a pandemic and people are getting used to zoom conferences as well, I am considering foregoing a store front (at least until the pandemic is over). Has anyone opened their own firm and not opened a store front? If so, did that work? What were some things that helped you make it work? Thanks!

Does anyone has any insights into it beyond the company blog post claiming they are not involved. Also how is the work culture there, are these sort things even believable for such company ?

Best guided adventure trip outfits? Looking to get away in February. I’ve realized that I need to get away soon as I’m feeling some cabin fever. I love doing outdoorsy stuff - hiking, kayaking, canyoning, caving. Might do a ski trip, too, soon, but looking for something a bit more rugged. I prefer guided trips for the camaraderie and perceived safety benefits :). Any ideas? For context, I did a white water rafting and camping trip to the Grand Canyon last summer and loved it.
