I work as a financial Analyst at a Fortune 500 company & was recently offered an Associate role (both title & pay bump). Simultaneously, I’m looking to leave my company within 6-8 months from now to work for a smaller company / get out of the corporate “rat race”. Tips on leaving a role after only 6 months w/out burning bridges? Is that possible? I feel somewhat guilty about leaving my team after they spend time training me etc , but I know I have to make choices for my good > company’s good

In my opinion, I would accept the associate role unless it is a contractual position and you would be breaking the contract by leaving in 6-8 months. Here’s why, say you didn’t have this plan to leave in 6-8 months but in that time you found something you’re more passionate about, you would then leave regardless and the company would still have to replace you. We are expendable to the companies we work for and they should be expendable to us likewise. You make these decisions for your best interest, the companies will also do the same :)

Just be as professional as possible and let them know that you've been offered another opportunity that aligns better with your career goals. There's no guarantee you won't burn a bridge, but at the end of the day, it's business and you have to do what's right for you.

I would invite you to consider reflecting on why you rushed into the job you’re currently at and just take it as a learning lesson, and get what you really want ofcourse- loyalty is dead!

Haha anything under 1 year is considered a mis hire so sooner the better that’s probs even before probation

I think you will burn bridges but you gotta do what’s right.

Well I’m kind of hoping this gets the boost I want it to. I have been applying to jobs left and right after my company announced it was shutting down in May. I found a new job, but it is not at all the right fit - including a decrease in pay, a misogynist owner (who told me I will never get answers or respect because I’m a female), among other problems. I am hoping someone has a referral for a senior level operations position and can help me find a better fit. Thank you 🙏🏼

Good morning. Looking for advice on salary negotiation. I am an Admin Coordinator at major NYC hospital (19years) with 23 years of admin experience, but no degree. Coordinator level positions at my hospital are considered management, however I am planning to relocate to Ga and I’m finding the salaries for this same position or office manager are almost$10K-12K less than I currently make. I have other leadership experience within a volunteer org but not sure how to negotiate for a better salary.

Anyone here work at Big D in either the M&A FDD group or the ARA group? I’m a year in having spent 6 months each in my firm’s FDD and accounting advisory groups. I’ve been approached by a Deloitte recruiter for either of those two groups and I’m definitely interested if it means at least a 10-15% pay bump. My main question is about the work life balance. For AAS it was pretty great, didn’t work late much and when I did it was never past 8. FDD was a bit more chaotic.

Hi ladies! I would appreciate life advice if anyone has any: I have a great partner who wants to be a dad, and this is a make or break for him. I was never sure I wanted to be a mom and the reason is because I would only have kids with a partner that picks 50% of the burden (especially in terms of time, since I put my 50% share of money) and take turns on whose career comes first. He says he’s open to an equal marriage, but I just don’t see this happening in the day to day. Tired of words…
