I work as an account executive and I'm honestly considering learning to code to become an engineer. Not sure if it will be worth it though. Any thoughts?

If you need to reboot your career, do it. Just don't give up your current job until those coding skills are up to par and you've landed something else based on them.

Where are you in your career? Coding is not a joke and takes a lot of time and skill. Are you doing it for the money? There are other paths if its for the money (consulting, etc.) that are more in line with what you're doing now.

I wanna reboot my career for fun, and try out building software hands-on for a change. Will depend on my financial plan really.

PM me about a startup opportunity that might help with this. Just keep in mind that startups can be rough. But it looks like you’ve got some startup experience or at least interest!

I'm learning to code as a side project and it's awesome. Highly recommend ot

Code academy is a good place to start to see if you like coding.

Do you enjoy tech and engineering? If you're only doing it for the money, you'll be miserable. Try to find something that matches your interest and desired comps., engineering is not for the faint of heart.

I have to travel to my client every week and the client’s office is attached to a very nice hotel that’s $250 per night. There’s a hotel right across the street that’s $150 per night.. it’s alright, but not as great. Should I be mindful about how much I’m spending or should I blow up the budget until someone says something?

Hi everyone - We are thinking of changing our wedding photographer after unsatisfactory engagement photos and unsatisfactory communication (unresponsive after multiple attempts). We paid a $450 retainer which we know will be not refundable. However, we are not sure about other liability as we read our contract and found these 2 clauses (in comments). Please advise! Definitely not happy with her and would like to switch to another one but also want to make sure we make the right move. Thanks!

Realizing why agencies are still struggling to find enough Business Affairs employees. And know several people who this has happened to. One is pay. Salaries have been going up the last year or two. And some agencies aren’t raising their pay as fast as others. But another big factor is employers are trying to find candidates that check every box. So if a candidate has 19 out of 20 required skills or experiences, they aren’t being given offers. Even if that one piece can be easily taught …

My total experience is around 7+ years and am currently working in a MNC from the past 4 years. I was planning to make a switch to some other company but recently my manager has mentioned to me in person and as well as on my appraisal feedback (in writing) that I will be nominated for the H1B visa in the coming cycle. This was in July 2022. Should I be worried that it won't happen or should I start looking for the switch.?

My husband has a tendency of always shutting me down in discussions. I don’t know why, but his ingoing position is that I must be clueless regarding whatever topic we are discussing. It’s very annoying because 1) I find it disrespectful 2) I am smart enough to have the same job as him and 3) it means we can never talk about anything- he always turns it into an argumentative way of disproving whatever I say

A recruiter contacted me about a solution architect position. I looked at their requirements and I may not be qualified for the role since I only have 1.5 years technical experience. I studied computer science in school but I didn’t do well due to life coming in the way. I got poor grades but ultimately finished my degree without any internship experience.

After three months of job search, I started for 45K at a construction company as a Jr App Support. After a year I shifted in to QA for 65k and now after a year of QA, I have finally gotten a position as a software engineer for 78K base.

The imposter syndrome is finally gone!

Hang in there, hard work pays off.

Hypothetical: If you are new to a job and working part time on a startup and your team was accepted into Y Combinator, would you quit your job so you could go full time for the three months?
