So depends. Now most schools want to see you've been doing research so you'll need to attend a lot of events in a short time and most of the events through R1s deadlines are full. GMAT is not necessarily a hard test but it does take a little time to prep and get the 730+ you realistically need now a days. Plus writing the essays and depending on the school could be very different. So just be wary it may not be possible

Nah, I prepped all my materials within 2 months incl. GMAT and got into HSW. Not hard

Right in that I was in school but I was also writing my senior thesis and taking care of my family so still had demands on time :-)

I started prep around this time last year and applied rd 2. Got into m7

Can you share your stats (yoe, gpa, gmat, role you were in)? Sorry if it’s too intrusive - I’m kind of old for mba (30) and have shitty undergrad stats so I’m a little worried I would only end up getting rejected even after spending shitload of time after work prepping

Recruiting at business school starts day 1. To have strong essays and do well in the interview, you have to articulate exactly why you need the degree and what you do want to do with it. Obviously can be flexible, but I would advise doing the thinking part now rather than later

Yeah but you don't need to follow through. You can always change it later

I’ve been through 5+ weeks of interviews with a company that will IPO next year and they did a bait and switch on me with the offer: it was advertised as “Head of” and then during the offer-walk-through-meeting today they said “oh btw we changed the title to ‘Senior Manager’ for this role”. They offered me a salary I made 4 years ago as a manager. They offered stock options with an exercise price TBD 1 year from now…which is when they’re hitting IPO. Is that normal for stock options?

What kept you going when you were trying to break into consulting? I’ve networked a ton and gotten referrals. However it hasn’t translated to interview or recruiters ghost me after the initial screening call saying “they will follow up”.
