I work at a preschool that redirects disruptive students by giving them a book to calm down and regroup. Do you think this is a good practice or does it ultimately lead the student to see reading as punishment?

You can let them choose a different center as “redirection” instead of choosing their choice for them. Also, you can redirect them to a “cozy corner” to discuss their feelings, emotions, and what different activity the child wants to choose to change the behavior.

Depends. Do they see it as a punishment? I love the redirects to a more calming activity, but uf the kids feel that it's punishment then it's detrimental.

Hello, All! I'm looking for recommendations on inspirational content for women leaders. I follow TEDWomen, many podcasts, and the Women's Conference among other sources. I'd love to hear a fresh perspective on business, trends, tech, marketing, equality in the workforce, etc. I'd love to learn something new. I'm at the VP level and have started a couple of companies, so nothing too junior, but open to many topics. Please share any speakers, books, webinars, or events that you may come across.

Any business development advice for a minority female partner-level transactional lawyer? I have strong resume, incredible deal sheet, worked at the best firms. Existing firm clients say I'm the best counsel they ever had. But developing new clients (my own clients) is a hurdle. Seems like potential clients (mostly all white men) won't give me a chance at a deal. If they'd send me just one deal, I could win them over, but can't get my foot in the door. Advice?
