already accepted a new role but doesnt start for several months. was hoping to secure the bag prior to that

I think you should take advantage of the opportunity and focus on doing your best. You are learning now - make the most of it and increase your value. Get the raise in 6 months.

OP - I think you have a really negative attitude that will hurt you in the long run. You are positioned to get valuable experience and a great raise in 6 months if you step up and perform. Wonderful opportunity. Stop whining.

My group went from tax to consulting mid fiscal year last year and they increased my pay over 50% for this year due to the switch so if you like working there then I would just wait

like

well in my case the work is entirely different. i will probably follow up with hr/talent and see what bs they sling

I would go out and get another offer and see if they can match or get your salary increased sooner. The difference between 70k and 85k for 6 months isn’t that big of a deal if you like the company

Actually, a woman would be told “your major was more in line with the previous salary so you have to prove yourself for 6 months (or more) for a possible adjustment”.

Got an informal offer to join a client (manufacturing company). 240k base, 60k cash bonus target (can shrink or double depending on company metrics) + 50k annual equity (3 yr rolling vesting). Director level which has just one additional layer between me and the Exec Committee. My contact already internal negotiated extra vacation and is working on my behalf for a signing bonus. Is it worth trying to negotiate base? Or is this already a strong offer?

Manager 1. Transfer from audit into FDD (and have to do one more busy season in audit), or leave to a financial reporting job at a large public co for 40% raise?

Working as an audit staff in big 4 shared service centre. It's been 2 years. I really don't like what I do there, also it seems I won't like what I'll be doing there even after becoming senior. Thinking of leaving and joining industry once ACCA qualified. (One more paper left). But people around me discourage that growth potential and earnings in industry are way less compared to public accounting. I know that too but I still want to leave. I'd like to stick to core accounting. Thoughts pls
