I work directly with executives on a number of issues in their departments. Recently, I’ve noticed a trend that they as a group have become less collaborative, more testy, unwilling to listen, distrusting of each other, and unable to communicate their needs and expectations to me or each other. I wouldn’t be so alarmed if it was just one exec, but this attitude is seemingly permeating the whole group. What is going on, and how would you approach this as an HR professional?

I think you'll have to approach it on a person-by-person basis. Not sure there would be a way to get everyone on board at once, since you can't technically pinpoint the problem. I'd start with the individual with whom you interact the most and take it from there. Maybe he/she can shed some light on the shift in attitude.

Thanks! It’s a full-sized exec team so probably talking in small groups of related workstreams might help. I’m not sure i have the pull to even dig into this, but it could be worth a try

Your best bet would be to divide and conquer. Talk to a single person or a small group, try to pinpoint the problem, and keep moving forward with this plan.

like

I would go 1 by 1, flying below the radar at the beginning.
Maybe share your key findings and action plans in small groups would be great, but make sure no one is exposed with anedoctals or examples that are "easy to discover".
Most of the cases, someone is extracting some benefit from this dynamic, so be careful to not overshare or be too transparent

Hi fishes,

Just need your idea/experience (if any) on the following query:
I already have an offer with CTS.
I am also getting offers from other MNCs, but for other locations.
If I wish to join CTS only, but want to negotiate with them, on the latest offer I have with an expectation that they atleast match the same amount (if not offering me more).
So just wanted to know, whether at all they would provide me a revised offer or would they be strict enough to let me go & not negotiating at all?

I had my PHR back in early 2000, then made a career change to a paramedic (I know, right). I called SHRM and they said I'm eligible to test again even though I only currently have 1.5 yrs of HR.

I purchased the online study guide and it seems that HR has gone in a completely different direction - more operations related than employee relations etc.

Did anyone find this online training to be helpful? I test in July, so any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks - lauren

Without looking, I was recently offered a role at another company for about 30% more salary and 10x the amount of stock options, but I have only been at my current employer for less than a year and feel really guilty about leaving so soon into my tenure. My current employer might match salary, but there's no chance the options get matched.

I'm wondering if I should take the new position, even after less than a year at my company? I can't shake my guilt even though it seems like a no-brainer.
