I work for a big organization that claims a resident felt disrespected when he came down to pick up his guest. This phantom resident sent a letter, unsigned and miraculously landed in HR’s box to which we had a meeting about. I never saw the letter but written up.

Sounds like a possible manufactured situation.. just happened to get direct to HR

It seems that way. When you prove upper management wrong you’re a target.

Sounds kinda sus to me, maybe just an excuse to hold a meeting? Guess HR's been feeling a bit bored lately lol

The GM with HR with one occurrence. Which corporate shut down and they only got a slap on the wrist. Two others with HR and GM. They will throw anything against the wall hoping it will stick. And this is a professional organization.

So did anyone in particular get reprimanded for how this "resident" felt? The only explanation I can see for this is that it was a really contrived way to have a meeting about proper etiquette when dealing with guests

To be honest, I like it here. And I’m liked by the residents with the exception of the one mentioned. Even though I haven’t been here in this department for a year, I’ve been here a a year and qualify for retirement amongst other benefits. These so called managers are so ambitious but clueless. I wrote a retaliation letter to corporate and was exonerated. Because their butts hurt they have to keep trying. I know the company handbook better than them. I’m not in the business of exposing them but they made it too easy. Why should I bear their incompetence?

Is this at a hotel? Is this a common occurrence in that kind of workplace? I've never heard of making up fake complaints

So fake. I had my first meeting with HR and the hotel GM for not saying hello to her. The GM supported her. Even though she admitted to not providing me with Healthcare information. I was written up for her incompetence.

Hmmm is this the first time something like this happens? It might be above your pay grade but someone higher up there should definitely be concerned if HR is forging complaints, it's not a good look imo

That sounds so rough to deal with, is there any reason why you would stay at this workplace? Doesn't seem like they treat you very nicely

Oh wow I guess it's a good sign of the service quality that the only complaints that come up are entirely made up haha, hope they didn't give you too hard of a time for it though

Yes, the HR, 2 GMs and a co-worker who would steal an orange peel if you put it in front of her. The other one because he’s super fat. He’s mad at the world for his insecurities. I don’t need approvals to be happy.

Best way to deal with family members who treat you like the family therapist? Over thanksgiving my aunt disclosed some intense stuff to me and asked me for my help/opinion, and it was uncomfortable. I don't feel good saying just don't talk to me about stuff like that, but I also am not paid to give therapy to my own family and the things they tell me put me in weird situations with other family members. Help!
