I work for a small company where there is about 24 people. The GM was hired in April of 2021 with a salary of 120,000. It’s the new year and we are about to do evaluations, we have employees that has worked with the company for over 10 years that makes no more than $15.00 an hour. She just got an increase her salary is now $160,000 a year. And now we have no money for raises. I feel like she still could have gotten an increase and give the staff an increase.

Wait....so, they allocated 100% of the available budget to ONE employee???

like

oh wow. I wonder what employee retention will look like in the new few moths/years

Not good I can tell you that. Although the employees are not aware of the increase they are unhappy about not getting one themselves.

I think you should get in front of this for next year. First develop a pay philosophy for your company? Let me know if you need a free template. I had to get in front of this throughout my career. We are HR Professionals we lead and advise the orgs we do not simply follow their plans. We advise on talent and develop strategies for the org to meet the overall company strategic plan goals.

Hello everyone, I will share it with you all on Wednesday when I am back at work. Thank you.

Yep!

Dealing with something similar! Except I can’t get my bosses to agree on raises for anyone unless they ask. I feel like I’m waiting for people to give us their 2 weeks notice. And I know if someone did, my bosses would immediately ask me how much $ they want to be able to stay. I wish you the best!

Be prepared for at least 50% turnover.

Hi..
I Appeared for an interview for RPA - Automation Anywhere. I didn't got any response after the interview. Then when I reached hiring manager through LinkedIn I got to know I cleared all the rounds but my expected cts is high so they might have rejected. First thing is I never said what I am expecting . And I clearly told In managerial round that I am open for salary discussion.

But no one responded. Will I get the call back in time? Or I just leave it and go ahead with other companies?

I am feeling depressed and having anxiety issues. My AST promotion is not happening and my experience is more than 10 years.

My salary is very low according to the market conditions. My manager is not trying to increase my salary and want work on time.

Can you all please suggest what should I do?

Any thoughts on how to advise a family member dealing with a consumer product / contract question? Basically, she spent $3,500 on a new refrigerator only for it to break down on her 3 months later. She tried working it out with the store, but they told her she has to go through the manufacturer’s warranty. The manufacturer has been giving her the runaround since September. Feels like a 1L contracts class hypo, but I’m so far removed from anything consumer-related.

I work with HR/Recruitment at an aquistion company. Most of our subsidiaries are small accounting firms, and we struggle with turnover/recruitment of certified public accountants. Mergers, tech and change affect the way we work and we’re overloaded with inexperienced graduates. As a result, the stereotypical accountant feels threatened, overworked and underpaid. Could really need some advice on how to deal with this issue.
