Cyber security man

As in, business analysis within the cyber security space? Have some decent tech knowledge, programming, etc, but don’t usually work with that directly. I don’t know much about the topic, doubt I’d be able to actually provide meaningful advice on cyber security unless I went back to school. My current job is well paying (I’m easy to please since I don’t spend on anything) and incredibly not-challenging. I pretty much coast most of the time and still exceed expectations. I’d do this for the rest of my life if possible, as I’m the anti-“company man”. Could not care less about climbing the corporate ladder. I just want to work from home in some rural town and tend to my vegetable garden, chickens, things that actually have meaning to me. Only reason I stay is because I make good money.

Hi! I’m majoring in IT & don’t know what I want to go into once I graduate. I’ve been set on getting an internship but it looks like I’m too late to land one for summer 2022 so I’m going to prepare for summer 2023. I’m anxious because I have no experience being 20 years old. I have 4-5 years of customer service experience but so does every student. What internships are more accepting of beginners? Project management, technical account Manager, Systems engineer maybe? Still learning the field.

My client's team starts work very early each morning (6 to 630 am), but i much prefer a later start (ie. 9 am). They also gave me a laptop to access Teams on their network, so will definitely notice if my schedule isn't aligned. I'm trying to make the adjustment to earlier start but know its gonna be tough...any tips or ideas to help manage? Thinking its best to adjust to their schedule for now at least and *maybe* discuss adjusting in the future at some point. Thoughts?

Poll: I have a junior team that's fantastic. They knock out concepts quicker than more experienced teams that I manage. Once budgets are normal I plan to promote them, but with Covid there isn't much work to go around. A) Should I cut them some slack and let them enjoy the rest of the day/wk? B) Let them help/assist the other teams that are a bit behind on their campaigns. C) Assign them to a new project (which would have to be with a different CD) D) Let them decide what they want.

Hi All, Am a developer mainly working with SQL and I want to move to AWS (devops), so I started to learn & practice few tools such as terraform, saltstack, prometheus, etc. But I do not have hands on a live project, any ideas if companies would take in beginners in AWS ? Even though there are cloud projects in my domain it is a bit difficult to get into those projects as my lead & manager give me the standard answer "you're a critical resource for our project" :( Any advice guys ? I have a client who wants to book me out for the next 6 months. The quality of work is meh and brands are small which makes for a bit of a boring experience + no chance of portfolio work, but the pay is good. I feel like it will come through, and if it does I’ll kick myself if I’m booked for the next 6 months. How do I keep the first client at bay w/out closing the door on them?
