I work for a top 10 firm in the northeast (Philadelphia area) and want to make a jump. I have 4.5 years in Private Clients - individuals, trust, partnership, gift tax but I also do international 5471/8865/8858/926/1116 and such. But I can’t seem to find any Private Client positions. Is it possible to try for International tax and step back to maybe a first year senior? I am still working on my CPA but I’m not happy where I am and need to jump

If you are interested in RSM, let me know. We might be able to work it out. Though majority of the ITAX folks are around Detroit, in todays world it doesn’t matter.

RSM has an ITAX practice in Philadelphia so if you want ITAX but also want to stay in your current market, certainly you could pursue it

Feel free to send DM if you are interested in applying to A&M. We have folks that overlap private clients and international

Dm me for bdo referral. It is definitely common for people jump to to international at the senior level.

I’m in international at PwC, feel free to DM any questions. I wouldn’t say it’s a crazy move, especially if you have international experience.

Feel free to reach out if you want to discuss opportunities at KPMG! You could fit well in our international group.

Deloitte arriving to the party. If you’re smart, we can teach you everything. I do intl Tax and we are constantly looking for motivated people to join the practice.

We have a need for a PCS Senior if you have interest in continuing with your current role and pressing the reset button at a new firm and with new clients.

You would be part of a fun, cohesive team and get a HCOL salary while working 99% remote (2-3 short trips a year for team building is optional). There’s some int’l compliance with our clients but perhaps not enough exposure if you are looking to make that a long term gig (since our international team handles most of the complex 5471/926/1116/etc. issues).

I’d be happy to chat about it - no pressure at all but a 5 min convo might be worth it as I think it would be a mutual fit.

I otherwise think you can find what you are looking for as an international tax senior - you just have to be honest/clear in your search and interviews so each side has the same expectations.

Hi, I'm planning to target a product based company for the position of a frontend developer. I am going through JS, ReactJS, NodeJS, Express, and networking concepts. However, for ds algo rounds, should I focus on solving it using JS? I used Java during my college years for ds algo, so I'm familiar with it. But, since I'll be aiming for a JS job, I'm not sure whether I should practice ds algo using Java or JS. Please help me decide. YOE=1, working on .net and sql maintenance project in Deloitte.

Big 4 folks how much of the work at your strategy practices are PMO type of work? I feel like most of the projects in my firm are just being a PMO for hire for a client project. No real strategic work a such. I'm still entry level though so just want to see if this is how the industry will be going ahead.

Hello all, I hope you’re all having a fantastic day/evening. I’m a Case Manager for TZ Insurance, aka Tranzact. I’m looking to pivot back into a technical writing role, or at least a role with tech writing as a core responsibility. I’ve been working toward a solution architect role but I’m not allowed to own any documentation; I have to farm it all out to BAs. I actually wouldn’t even mind being a BA — which is literally what I was hired as — but my “on paper” boss said my salary is too high to be a BA(?!). Is it possible to land a tech writing or BA job that pays in the $140k - $150 range?

Hi! I just hit my two year mark at my firm and I was wondering about switching from public to private firms for the work life balance and pay. I started off as an AP Specialist at an aerospace tooling company and never left later than 5 PM. Now I’m barely making rent but have the awesome mentorship and resources to produce FS and potentially grow but long hours are affecting my well being and finances. Should I grind it out at the firm or try for staff accountant?
