In a normal situation I would choose the money and move on but looking at the current economic situation I’m afraid that it will take a very long time to find another job. Is it worth to stay in a maybe toxic environment or is it better to leave while all is good and hopefully I can join again when the economy goes better? *although I’m protected they may still find a way to fire ppl in a few months, but that will be very hard

Take the money and go. 5 months salary should cover you for at least 8 months, even in the current environment you should be fine with that much time. If you stay they will make your life miserable and maybe go out of their way to find a cause to fire you (with no severance).

Can you stay and use the time to job hunt?

Some kind of socialist utopia you got there !!

Take the severance and leave

It's difficult ofcourse in these times you cant see much hope with th jobs but it should definitely be better in 3 months

I started a new role in BizOps over the summer at a late stage FinTech startup making $150K base ($15K signing bonus) and stock options. I previously worked at a T2 consulting firm and went to a non-HYP Ivy for undergrad. Have 4 YOE (will be 5 at matriculation) I’m debating whether I should pursue an MBA. Long term goal is entrepreneurship / FinTech for developing economies. I don’t think I’d want to go back into consulting and I don’t think PE/VC is very feasible either. Any thoughts?

Hi European 🐠 My company is currently looking for IT architects and tech consultants (any level). We’re a boutique with a amazing team culture and really very interesting projects, great learning opportunities (aka we don’t get hired to take over tasks no one wants to do, we get hired to make a difference) + above average comp. Relocation is not necessary, as long as you’re in CET time zone and live close to an airport. DM me for more information! Cheers
