I work in tech bd… and every now and then I feel that I am wasting my life by working for someone else / company. I should just go on my own.. I just do not know how to go about it…. Is this common? May be a mid-life crisis..15 yoe, early 40s.

Looks like a massive Exodus happened in Deloitte? Trying to staff a project and there is literally no one to staff with (at least Salesforce practice) and we are having to reach out to contractors. Is this a result of layoffs that happened last year and folks are purely unhappy with pay (not considering project pressure as that can vary/be subjective)? For folks who have been here for a long time, is this a common occurrence or is it especially bad this time around?

Received an offer for 50% more comp but just started a project where the client specifically requested that I deliver the work and there really isn’t anyone else who has the knowledge that I do (because of past delivered work) to deliver this within the timeframe. How should I approach leaving?

My SM told me that I have to be conscious of racial diversity when selecting a candidate for my project team. It seemed like they were very very careful with their language. Does this mean I have to pick a URM? My project is already majority URM, so wouldn’t adding another URM make it less racially diverse?

Still don’t understand why I get paid $70K plus expensive meals and lavish hotel stays just to wear a suit, sit in on meetings, take notes, and smile at clients. Guess I’ll enjoy it while it lasts...
