I work with a classroom of Middle School ED students. One student, who I worked with the year before, has changed alot over the year. Last year (pre COVID), she had a good head on her shoulders and I thought I had good rapor with her. But over that period of isolation, she tried to commit suicide.
But actually. My kindergartners love to let everyone in the classroom know they’ve found a misplaced pencil ✏️
Hey friends! I hope you’re all well during this crazy time we’re in. I am hosting a workshop on Tuesday where I’ll be diving into one classroom management strategy that I live by for any teachers looking for some PD.
Hi All! I hope you guys are staying safe and healthy.
I am hosting a free workshop for teachers that I thought might benefit you. The workshop is called From Unsettled to Prepared Classroom. I am giving you the tools you need to feel organized and ready for this upcoming school year. There is so much that is still uncertain and it can be super daunting to start to plan for a year like this one.

Need to leave for Canada in roughly a month because of US visa expiry but worried about potential travel restrictions in Canada given the bad covid situation. Are there any provinces that are not as hard hit by covid? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
I’m in trading operations. I graduated during COVID and it has been my ultimate goal to become a trader. I know it’s insanely difficult to pivot from back office to trading but I would welcome any advice on making that transition.
I am trying to build my quiet area in my classroom. I am having a hard time finding things that I feel are appropriate for this area during this pandemic. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please and thanks!!! :)
How is your district implementing school reentry? How are you setting up your classrooms to meeting social distancing while still allowing for free play?
What is the etiquette to return the favor when someone hands down toys for your LO? Did Not grow up here so not sure if handing down is normal here culturally or is it people perceiving me as needy or something. Recently got to know neighbors they covid and our kid’s play together. Mine is the youngest to some parents are bringing stuff and handing me over when we meet up. Not sure what to think of it and how to thank them or say no. Don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings? Is this usually a cue?
I can manage my classroom better if I don’t respond to emails outside of office hours. This gives my mind a break and by consequence refreshes me for the next day. It also sets a boundary.
What is your approach to hybrid learning? How are you streamlining information for kiddos inside and outside of the classroom?
Happy technology Tuesday! Any ideas on how how you plan on incorporating technology within your classroom?
What novels do you use in your ELA classrooms? I am curious to see what everyone else is using !
What is your top favorite lesson? Mine would be one last year when I had to find the time to get into the classrooms and teach. I led a talk about the Harlem Renaissance and the kids made a jazz collage. It will be much easier with the art room back open.
What’s songs do you listen to while working from home?! Trying to make a wfh COVID playlist!
How did Barclays India performed and supported it's employees during recession and COVID?
Did they cut salaries, layed off employees, didn't gave any yearly appraisals??
How was it actually for its employees???
I am up for Partner this year (Sept 2022). My Partner whom I report to is the Managing Partner (Partner 1) of our service line. Over the last year, any email that he gets from his Managing Partner (his boss - Partner 2) is sent to me where I need to draft the email and send to Partner 1 who sends it to Partner 2 as his own.
When I say every email / request, I really mean every single one, where Partner 1 feels like he can't speak to Partner 2 w/o my input. I should consider this job security.
I work on-site in a manufacturing facility. I'm leading a project where I'm the expert. I want to transition into a more flexible/ hybrid role (not necessarily with the company). How do I bring this up to my manager?
Any HR Project / Program managers willing to share their resume (will DM). Embarking on a job hunt and just trying to see best way to structure
I am second year PDM II in Deloitte and my base package is ~125 K. Is this fair or should I expect more base on market adjustments?
Hi Fishes ,
Does joining in Morgan Stanley gets delayed due to Background Check.
I had such intimation by HR.
Does it happen with anyone else as well?
Does anyone have insight into exiting to the US? Im trying to figure out my best bet but would love some tips!
I am looking for someone who work’s at Microsoft as a TPM to reach out to me. I am looking to prepare for an upcoming interview. Thank you.
Hey who is going to Here Are All The Black People (NY) and 3% (Chicago)? We’ll be there! Hit me directly if you’d like to meet up IRL in either or both cities. Our agency has many roles at the moment.
Accidentally just ate the seeds of a watermelon.. what’s the best way to harvest the watermelons that are now going to grow in my stomach
I’ve been working on a pitch that continues to get delayed and it’s poorly managed. The RFI was due in July. Then days AFTER submission I received an email from the consultant saying we now had until August. End of September rolls around and frankly I had forgotten about this 100-page beast. They want a meet and greet….the following week. The day before the meet and greet we get a list of questions (that aren’t easy softballs). Now 2 weeks later and nothing. What a gross feeling this process is
How can I get experience in profit & loss?
So I’ve been talking to this guy for about 7 months and everytime I bring up our relationship status, his response is that we’re more than friends but not in relationship. He’s introduced me to all his friends and wants to me to get along with them. Idk what to do? I actually like this guy, but is he really worth it?
Hi all! I picked up a part time job as “computer support” a few months ago and have since found myself doing a lot more than anticipated. I handle installation and maintenance of Burglar systems, access control, video surveillance, network systems, POS workstations, VoIP, and payment terminals. I took the job with no “formal” education in tech. My “trainer” at the company was a joke, I basically taught myself everything. What do you think would be a reasonable hourly pay for such a person?
School shooter threats at my kids’ high school today - the threat circulated on social media on Thursday and the police still haven’t resolved it (cont)
KKR Capstone - I've an upcoming interview with them. Does anyone have any insights on the process, culture, how they are seen by the investment team, WLB, salary? Thanks 🙏🐠
Speaking of PSTH — I have a put selling question. June $20 (NAV price) are going for .48. Isn’t it extremely low risk to sell ~50 puts (assuming $100k liquidity that would otherwise stay in cash) to make $2250 on that? What am I missing?
Question about PTO - my contract says 25 days but is this inclusive of any office shutdown over Christmas/New years (if there is one?). In Sydney office if that provides some context. Thanks!

Do you ever consider becoming a teacher? If you didn’t have a job as paraprofessional what job would you do?
I love my job and have been doing it for years. My Principal is good to me as well! The problem is...the Paraprofessionals at my school are never recognized. You have Teachers Day, Secretaries Day, Principal's Day, etc. Paraprofessional Day comes and goes at my school every year with nothing mentioned to us. Paraprofessionals in my department (Sped) wear many hats on certain days and work extremely hard (mentally/physical)! Does anyone else get this treatment?
Hello :) If your county is returning with ONLINE ONLY, have you been told your roll, or even IF you have a job to start? We are a week out and the support staff has zero information on the return plan pertaining to us.
Hello, I am Tia and I am a paraprofessional at a high school in VA. Ive been a paraeducator for 5 years
I want to say I love working at my school, but I'm a little frustrated. Yesterday was bus driver appreciation and the teachers went outside after school to hold signs for them, amazing right? Today is secretaries day and they posted signs all over the office for them, I find that 100% fantastic! The problem I have is that paras and janitors we're barely acknowledged. Our sunshine said something to us a days after para appreciation day and my team, sped and grade team, both acknowledged us...
Hello, my name is Judith. I have been a paraprofessional for 41 years with Duluth Public Schools. I am also the Chairperson for our bargain ing unit
What are your summer plans?
Happy Teacher's and STAFF appreciation week!!! You matter!!!! Have a great week!!! Blessings and LOVE!!!
For my curiosity, how much are you paid? Do you feel as though it is an appropriate amount for our job?
PK Para, $1,200/m, no breaks, 22 students(our school breaks down yearly check to pay summer)
I had surgery 3 weeks ago, almost 4 and the doctor has released me to go back to work sinc either was a work injury. I definitely don't feel ready and feel my knee isn't good enough for the stairs.
Anybody else out there getting a boatload of emails, but none of them pertain to you? All of the emails are geared towards returning teachers and the only thin the paras know is our start date.
I will say this I love working with the students . I love getting to know them . I smile to myself when I go to work . I still feel this way after last week being asked my three different people about doing something where I told them that I was not going to do. following day I was then ambushed by admin (where I have never felt more like nothing. Following this encounter with people in charge I had an anxiety attack. This was terrible and I have no trust . TAs are mistreated. Similar story?
I am on the verge of getting my certification to become a special education teacher, cold someone tell help me find a place that can help with my resume
A paraprofessional's job is more than just waiting for instructions for the teacher. What would you do if they were yours? It's common sense!
Does your school have a summer accelerated program? If so, how much does paras get paid?
I have been in my position for 27 years and have never seen such a state of affairs as I have this year (but then, with the pandemic, who has, right?) Well, long story short, we've gone hybrid (some in person, some online). The teacher has been out with surgeries and covid. I have been teaching both groups at the same time. Sometimes a sub for help, sometimes not. I love the kids, but really?
