I don’t know how easy it would be to find them, but there are at least three or four posts on this topic with a lot of great responses. I would see if a senior writer, ACD or CD would be willing to mentor you. Reach out to some junior ADs and see if they might be interested in working on some spec with you. You can pull together a portfolio and get some critiques. It won’t be easy, but you already have some experience with conceptual thinking and the industry. I used to be a project manager. It can be done

If you’re in LA, I recommend taking BookShop classes, especially if you already have agency experience in some capacity .
In shaping the creative idea. I’ve always worked well with creative teams and have been included in brainstorms and had folks ask why I didn’t pursue becoming s creative. Early in my career, I actually wanted to a copywriter but lacked the confidence and mentorship opportunities, so I ended up on the account management track. Now I’m a little older and still wonder if I’d be happier working as a creative. Any recommendations on how to transition?
