It was always thus. Few “jobs” are as interesting as helping solve important problems and drive meaningful change, in an endless series of non-BAU project situations, working with awesomely talented people. Especially when you are more junior - ie below corporate SVP.

impactful or exciting. I am wondering if it is my bias. Would love to hear your thoughts

Product management, marketing, PE mgmt.

@M2 - I completely agree with the different people point. To give you more context, I expect 3 things from my job -
1. Continuous learning
2. Impact
3. People who I admire (smart and career driven, with empathy)

Money is only a hygiene factor. I added empathy recently after meeting I-Bankers. Nothing against them, they would be liking what they do :)

3 years ago I asked for a compensation review/raise, went through what felt like a ridiculous 8 MONTH long process of defending why it was warranted, only to be told no. 3 months ago I asked again and it has gone nowhere. I should add that salary bands are kept secret and I have no clue what the range for my position is. There are a decent amount of benefits in my position, the biggest being WLB, which is what has kept me here for so long. But I’m getting frustrated. What would you do?

I feel like I’ve screwed up any chance for happiness by going into the law. I hate the law firm culture. It’s made me so depressed. But I can’t find time or energy to network or develop skills that could land me a non-law job with decent pay (I have student loans). It seems like the only options for getting out of the law are to become a career coach or a recruiter, which I don’t want to do. Can anyone share a success story to give me hope?

Hello I am curious to know what people think of getting a masters degree in Data Science. I am looking at a program that is 32k which compared to others is not as expensive. I am hoping that a master degree would help with that process.
