I’m finding that a weird side effect of losing my job in this climate is ad agencies taking advantage of my weakened position. They get in touch, proactively or in response to my reaching out, and they want to hire me as they are in good shape. When I reveal I was laid off, the offer changes to freelance or maybe nothing. My work, awards, the fact that they know me and approached me in the first place should be enough. I don’t want to lie about my situation. Any ideas how to avoid this?

Throughout the interview process, I've engaged with a Jr recruiter, the hiring manager, several potential coworkers, and a Sr recruiter (but not HR). We are first time home buyers, found 2 homes that we like. After a 20% down, monthlies (mortgage, insurance & hoa) for the smaller one are coming in at 20% of HHI, whereas payments for the slightly larger/nicer one are coming in at 30% of HHI. Hey everyone any good low cost dividend ETFs or good stocks that pay consistent dividends out there? So far I’ve bought SCHD and then I bought Blackstone (BX) as a dividend paying stock. I understand that I could pick from the list of stocks SCHD is comprised of, but I’m restricted in certain individual stock picks. Additionally, I have TQQQ and VOO as my index funds. Any thoughts on allocating more to dividend stocks vs SP500 index funds?
