I would appreciate some guidance. Here is the situation. My org is moving towards Agile in the last year or so. To prepare myself for better position- I completed Product owner certification. So in Dec I got a product owner role for a small product. But since its relatively new - my manager and her manager are not yet trained on agile. So along with my role - i also got a deadline for 1st release in about 6 wks - even though I did not have a team - no scrum master or dev team. Cont. in comment

I got 1 dev assigned 3 wks in the project. He is good and quite knowledgeable in agile also. But he undermines my role in the team. Doesn’t discuss issues or concerns with me but instead talks to my mgr and then she tells me about it. He blows off my meetings, only does things my boss tells him to or if I write him an email with boss cc’ed. It has been going on for last 3-4 wks. I tried all I could to make my mgr see how he is playing us. Also the dev person has now got my mgr to agree to have his mentor “coach” me in agile since this guy is also close to my boss’s boss. So my boss thinks he will be an asset. In this whole circus - the mentor gets his items done on the side by the dev - without prioritizing or even letting me know. When I brought this to my mgr she told me that I either have to listen or she will re-assign the role to someone else. This is in-spite of me meeting the ridiculous deadline and delivering a complete release. I am at a loss as to what to do. There is another sr. Leader who is the agile coach for my org and has said openly that he will help all Product owners in setting up the right practices and process. Should I approach him? Will that look petty on my behalf?

Hi everyone

I'm in a business development role based in Asia. May I get your thoughts/pointers on the CAIA?

I'm aware that the CAIA is not as popular in Asia compared to the CFA. From my knowledge, there are no CAIA holders in my current firm within the Asian region, despite dealing with alternative investments.

Would be happy to hear your thoughts regarding the CAIA, and study tips if you have any!
