Oh didn't know about that, maybe when I'm ready to leave. I have a friend starting in a few weeks there out of MBA so she said she would tell me how she likes it in ATL. I'll prob go thru her for a referral if she likes it. My hesitation is brand recognition with slalom. ACN/big4 looks a little more prestigious, which might be stupid but one of the reasons I joined was to build up my resume
Mostly security, did QA for a security tech company, SOC and been doing security implementations and architecture here. I've heard slalom is recruiting for security but haven't seen too many reqs for NYC. Can you elaborate on digital transformation? Is that like how some banks r trying to eliminate brick and mortar moving to more mobile platforms. I know BOA jus laid 7k people for that very reason.
Got it, no need to be rude. I am new and never heard the term before
Staff Aug is when they jus need a Syd admin and u simply work alongside the client as a normal employ. They would either go with a staffing agency or a cheap enough consulting company
Everyone I know at Slalom LOVES it. But if you like the travel, maybe not for you. It's where burnt out consultants go
Smart move with the burner email, can we all share that one when you're done with it? Password: Catfished
Same. Yes. No.
What does body shop mean?
^ seriously? You must be new. It means staff augmentation. Get it?
Yeah, why be such a dick d1? I'd never heard the term either.
Oh and people seem happy....unlike my firm
I saw him once haha
Either McKinsey bc they have some cyber reqs or slalom but I'm trying to get out at the end of the year, so mainly industry roles that would hopefully be a step up in my career. No reason to jump to big4...I know it'll be the same.
Makes sense A1, thanks. That sounds pretty shitty tho
Great point. I've never worked at PwC so didn't know. Sorry to hear that. Yes, I'd go to a nicer firm then, if you already get that kind of work. The real key will be figuring out how to get the experience so you can go to either another firm or client at a higher level in a few years. Not sure of career at Slalom but really no idea
Slalom is doing very well and growing over 30% a year which none of the big 4 are doing. Not a body shop.. projects tend to be smaller and focused in hot technology areas. Big 4 like advancement is absolutely possible, but there isn't an up or out push.
Implementing technology platforms that improve operational processes. A good consumer facing example is a mobile first lending portal like Sofi.com
Why Slalom? Body shop totally. Maybe big aspirations but will be a challenge. I'd bet they are on the block
Tbh good marketing and the local model attracted me. What's behind all of that? That's what I'm trying to figure out.
Same, but a lot of the reqs feel very staff Aug. they jus started posting strategy reqs that actually feel like consulting if that's your route.
Thanks Accenture 1. Sounds like you are looking around as well. I would be looking at their Data Analytics group so I know some staff aug would be unavoidable. They do look like they have good stuff going on especially in Tableau. Wish there were more people on here that actually worked there.
