I would like to ask for a 12k increase in salary in negotiating an offer I recently received from another company. If they accepted my counter, this would be a 44% increase from my current salary, but the benefits are worse compared to my current company. Even if they meet me somewhere in between what I ask for, I’d likely be at the top of the pay range for my level/position/experience. Any advice for shooting for the stars like this?

If you get offer but everything you negotiate: base salary, bonus, more WFH days in hybrid model, etc. they say no, do you still accept? Leaves bad taste in my mouth. Offer isn’t paying more than current but higher title and getting the experience will better position me. Research shows base salary is $2k less than market but total comp is $34k less than market. I’m okay with hybrid but rather it be 2 days in office vs 3 days (initial phone interview said 2 days in office).

I’ve been with my current company for 3 years. In this time I have only received one raise and triple the responsibilities. I am currently the fleet/safety manager for a fleet of 8 trucks. Also, I am required to do all secretary work, manage the office, dispatch, keep the books, and manage payroll for 12 employees for 34,000 annually. With the workload I currently have I’m not sure what to approach my boss with as a fair salary for the task i complete daily.

I have a serious question regarding this because time is running out. I quit my job last year on Nov 5. I had about two weeks of PTO accrued and I wasn’t paid out my PTO. It was nowhere on company policy other than I was told “it’s known we don’t pay out PTO when someone quits”. Could I file a law suit to get me paid for those accrued hours?

It's something my companies have always said yes to, with no hesitation. Plus your PTO most likely won't change until you get those tenure increases (5 years, 10 years...) so DO IT. The worst thing they can say is that it's against company policy to change PTO policy for 1 person.
